Southampton spying compendium thread

It will have been a horse trade today.

They will have told Southampton they were getting the book thrown at them and Southampton know they dont have a leg to stand on, but they do have a right to an appeal with set timescales to allow them to prepare their case.

That would screw any chance of this weekend going ahead so EFL will have said you are out of the final - non negotiable. If you kick up a stink we will push for a punitive points deduction. Agree to play ball and submit your appeal tomorrow we will knock off a 4 point deduction.

If not Southampton would be able to bring a case against EFL for not being allowed the published time to appeal.

Decision made.
They might get a point removed, maybe two. Or do they risk adding a few more penalty points?
Remember we were demoted two divisions, reduced to one on appeal.

It's a right mess, saints fans have booked hotels and trains. Talk sport have said kickoff may need to move earlier on police advice. That could mess up a lot of Hull fans booked travel.
Ko not been confirmed before so can’t “change”

You've clearly not read the rest of the conversation I'm having mate. That's exactly my point - the EFL have made a decision that teams were cheated as a result of this, which opens a can of worms if it comes out that anyone else was spied on over the course of this season.
Fair enough mate, apologies, I've clearly not read enough of the thread 🤣 I can see your point, but guess Boro were the ones to catch them with the prize of the biggest game in football at stake. Utter stupidity from Southampton like.

Well your expectations are completely devoid of experience of legal process I'd wager. But as it turns out they've turned it around in quicker time than expected.
“As it turns out”??
So…it turns out that I was correct in my estimation that it could have been released quicker than was rumoured.
AND they came to a conclusion that punishes Southampton and goes a good way to not affecting the Hull fans financially.

And by the way.
I’m a good lad and have never needed any kind of legal process. 😉

Broad strokes of the scenario i set out will 100% happen tomorrow. If not EFL are practically inviting a legal challenge for not following their own appeal rules.

Might be 1, 2, 3 or 4 points knocked off but that's what will happen tomorrow.

I just remebered that fat lad around 20 years ago that danced behind the goal at Southampton and he got on match of the day. I am now wondering what he makes of all this.
Probably bitter sweet for him . As he will be gutted they're kicked out . But . I bet he can now purchase a special edition saints play off top XXXXXXL cheap as fuck now like 👍...
