LCD Soundsystem in a few hours

What did you think? I love them but the sound was f***ing awful.

Sound on all outdoor stages wasnt great. After they did call the police I went back to the tent to see Richie Hawtin which was mindblowingly good. The sound and visuals in there were excellent.
I know you got there late but the day peaked at 3pm with Confidence Man ! Superb.

Due to enjoying a bit of quality time with the Mrs,My full day itinerary never really came off !!
Confidence Man were excellent, Hookworms who I love, suffered from sound and technical issues, Hercules and love affair had no live vocalists, couldn’t get in jaegerhouse to see vessels !! Despite that had a great day !!

Anyone ever been to St Nicholas Cathedral for a gig in Newcastle? Just got my ticket this morning for Mercury Rev's 20th anniversary of Deserter's Songs.

Love that album. I was on holiday in the Cotswolds and by chance they were on at a music festival. I got a hi-viz out of the campervan and just walked straight past security

One of my all time favourites albums. Only £27 to see it in full as well. Was expecting another tenner on top of that.

So, my summary of the stuff I've listened to over the last few days:

Goat: new single 'Let It Burn'. No idea of it's from a new album or not. Well worth a listen though.
Sudan Archives: Female vocalled R'n'B with some African influences. Pretty decent.
School Damage: four songs of wonky Aussie indiepop. Pleasant enough but not entirely essential.
Jenny Hval: her usual mix of weirdness and popness only shorter as its an EP. If you like, you'll like, if you don't, you won't.
Wand: mini album, seven tracks (and one is less than a minute long). Not up to Plum's level but still enjoyable.
Camp Cope: one I missed when it came out. All female Aussie three piece. Lazy comparisons are to Courtney B. Reminds me of some of the poppier post-grunge stuff: Lemonheads, Juliana Hatfield etc.
Tracyanne & Danny: lovely indiepop duets, as mentioned by @mad cyril earlier. I misheard the title of 'Cellophane Girl' as 'Salad Fingers' on first listen.
Fatoumata Diawara: Malian singer songwriter. More akin to Amadou & Mariam's more gentle side then desert blues or Afro funk. Very good!
Michael Rault: Eccentric Canadian powerpopper, seems to be going through a moustache phase if the publicity photos are anything to go by. Surprisingly, signed to Daptone, which I thought was the label for retro funk and soul, not retro melodic rock/pop.
Kamaal Williams: jazztronica, I guess, with eyes more on the jazz than the tronica. Not really my thing but jazzheads may well bust a move to it on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke.
Wooden Shjips: Probably the bunny of the week! Still unmistakenly Wooden Shjips but a little mellower. Riffs, woozy vocals, motorik drums but with a sense of understatement.

On first listen, the new Courtney Barnett album seems destined to be my soundtrack of the summer. Kim and Kelley Deal guest on it and it shows.

It’s perhaps a bit too short, but the Pusha T album is very good indeed.
