Jennings
Burnham

Without international players
Logon or register to see this image
although might be able to put Latham in that when the other 3 leave

Burnham
Clark
Hickey/Steel
Richardson
Collingwood
Poynter
Pringle
P.Coughlin
Weighell/Arshad/Carse/McCarthy
Rushworth

Jennings, Cook, Burnham, Clark/Hickey, Richardson, Collingwood, Pringle, Coughlin, Carse, Onions, Rushworth

i don't think that looks particularly weak personally, especially against div 2 bowling. And a pretty special attack

I think the batting is a bit mind apart from the openers

For me, that side pisses promotion without the points deduction.

aye you'd like to think so. i guess alot depends on how players respond, i'd imagine they'll play with a rocket up their arse rather than despondant though. quality dressing room ours.

a fair amount of question marks on some players at div 1 level but you'd think they'd not struggle at div 2, maybe even put them in good stead for when [rather than if hopefully] we return.

Looking forward to seeing Burnham rack up an obscene amount of runs next year against second division bowling.

That's my main hope too.

I'd like to see Pringle really kick on too, does he have the talent to do so? Feel he almost doesn't know what his role is at times.

Carse should be decent, I think we could see a fair bit of Wood again too, just by the way it works out with his fitness.

I think what you say about Pringle also applies to Hickey. He certainly looks like he can hold a bat but from what I read it sounds like Durham are intending to develop both those players as spinners in this new coin-toss era.

Last year we routinely played 2 spinners in Pringle and Borthwick so not surprisingly Hickey is very much in next season's plans. His batting was always on a par with Burnham but appears to have regressed in the last year or so. Hopefully he can get sorted this close season.

I do not agree either.
Have a look at Sussex's squad, especially the pace bowling attack. Just announced today the signing of a second SA Kolpak.
Also Kent and Notts look strong.
Think Durham would have been up there without the deduction but certainly not "pissing" it.

ultimately nobody knows what durham will be like in a post stoneman/borthwick world.

alot of pressure on the questions marks - we have to hope that potential starts turning into consistency with the likes of burnham, arshad, pringle, hickey, weighell, coughlin. also need people to stay fit!

richardson and collingwood are the only really experienced ones in the batting line up and we need these to step up.

we know what we have with the attack

The sooner we leave the EU, the better. It's a vile rule and it's only hurting English cricket whilst Saffer merceneries take advantage of it.

That fair comment as long as you thought the same when Diva, Benks, Breese and Thorp where all playing in the same side for Durham.
As far as Durham go next season draws are no good to them in the championship and with a very lightweight spin attack i would imagine the home games will be 3 day matches on seaming wickets. It will be interesting to see the wickets counties prepare when Durham visit.
With a bit of luck with the weather and injuries i still believe Durham will be in contention for promotion.
