If this is actually true ( which it isn't by the way) what I'd say is I've followed sunderland both home and away for years. Walked back to car at boro league cup game years ago with no trouble. Sat with Wigan fans all afnoon in boozer prior to Marcus Stewart game. Drank in the boozer right outside elland road night of the keano 3-0 game (which away fans aren't allowed in but let me and my old man in) and have been to more games than can remember at roker park and SOL and never been near any trouble!

As a 13 year old, I got started on by a Boro fan whilst queuing to get in the Roker, he was a tall grown bloke looking to hit anyone!!

Walking back through the car park at the Wigan game you mention, there were loads of Wigan fans running through the car park punching random people, before they got scattered!!

I've been to Elland rd 3 times and got hit with a dart and golf ball whilst watching the game. I never went looking for trouble either?

I see you popping up on these threads looking for an argument all the time, you come a across as a blinkered old tw@t. Don't read them, if you don't like them!!

He's one sad man who just doesn't seem to like the club or fans, maybe they've shit on him from a great height in the past

Nar mate it was all Everton fans fault it's unheard of for English fans to get attacked while travelling abroad and foreign police to be heavy handed till now

There you go again, pointing the finger everywhere else. I don't doubt for one second a pub was attacked the day before or the coppers were heavy handed the day after. The Everton fans chucking bottles at coppers in the square are still nothing but scum. They are responsible for their actions.

This used to be commonplace and still happens once a season or so. Yet its never ever our fault.

From the night before and this coming from a I guess French doorman

Regarding the French police, the doorman added: “Some of the Everton fans were trying to explain. They were saying: ‘There are children inside’, but the police were swearing at them and wouldn’t listen.

“I saw them spray one Everton fan for no reason. He was just trying to reason with them.”

So the day after another bunch completely decided to lob bottles at coppers in self defence. It wasn't their fault.

Ive never been in this situation but tbh I think my reaction would be to fling bottles if I had teargas fired at me I bet dozens of other fans on here would too

I've got good mates who were in Lisbon and Nuremberg when they had large numbers over there yet there seemed to be no reports of trouble

I know Everton fans would be biased about it, but what I was going off was quotes from the French round about such as the one on the first page of this thread.

Some fans were blatantly attacked the night before. Other fans threw bottles at coppers the day after. I have full sympathy for the ones attacked, it must have been a nightmare. 5he ones throwing bottles were out of order. Not all everton fans, the dickheads throwing bottles. It was their fault they were chucking bottles.

The bear seems to think that either everyone or nobody us to blame. Like I would blame all everton fans for the arseholes kicking off after the game.

Everton fans were to blame for chucking bottles at coppers. Not all everton fans, the ones chucking the bottles. It was their fault.
