My first real season. Was mascot against Blackpool too and got hit in the face with a ball returned from the Fulwell. In my picture with John Cornforth it looks like I’d had a week in the sun with no lotion on!

This lad showed us how to open one of the doors to the turnstiles and we were in and jumped over the closed turnstile
Still got my home shirt in the loft from that seasonMy first proper season I went to about half the home games. Loved the Patrick shirts anarl

It was 6-1 Sunderland against Doncaster at Roker Park great day...Old Third Division...Me, loved it, remember walking from Farringdon on News Years day to Roker Park to watch us play Doncaster ( I could be wrong) think we drew 1-1.

My memory going thought it was 6-1....looked it up 3-1 sorry mate was at the match on New Years....It was 3-1
The match is one of the least important things about gannin to the match.I didn’t enjoy the football on the pitch, but that’s not to say I did not enjoy the look out. Just as I do when I watch the likes of Spennymoor. But if I was watching Spennymoor from 50 rows back in an empty 48 seater stadium or on sky I would hate it.
Thought we played York on New Year's DayIt was 3-1
