The Fishing Thread

Flog it! I just did a rough count and my tying materials are well into 3 grand, a top-quality cape is over a hundred quid now and you will need a couple of dozen, google Jungle Cock (it's safe  ) Angling magazines like Trout and Salmon are worth buying, just don't read the tackle reviews they are only after your money
My partner reckons she's going to use it, she's the crafty one in the relationship, it just doesn't do anything for me.

Flies are like 3 for a quid, why would I make my own

The life of a fisherthem always looks calm and peaceful and of that I am quite jealous. Don't think my racing mind would allow it

Anyone know if it’s worth spinning for mackerel or maybe even bass or pollock from the rocks near Marsden beach area in summer? Any tips on other rocky areas locally to try spinning in the summer? Cheers

There’s a channel on YouTube fishing in the uk he has stuff filmed at Marsden spinning for mackerel and pollock. Looks like he fishes down by the Leas way

At one time I had a limitless supply of rooster capes for nothing. If your ever in the market for an incredible true-crime book on the lengths certain people go to get the perfect fly for fishing I can recommend my favourite book “The feather thief” .

Just had my first bass fishing session of the summer. Onshore winds and a couple of feet of swell. We fished the flood and used light leads (2oz) and light braid. Bait was ragworm. We were casting about 30-40 yards only into a gully with slightly deeper water. We fished for two and a half hours but did not catch anything.

There’s always next time and it was nice to get out and cast a line.
