Hand to hand in Iraq including engaging with the baynot at rather close quarters. It’s what the infantry train for, close quarter battle. It’s not nice, and I’m not suggesting women couldn’t do it, it’s been shown time and again that women have an ability to kill and not give two hoots about it, and do it rather well. It does however, come down to physical fitness and strength. Needs to be a special lady to be able to meet the standards required, and if she succeeds, then good luck and very well done.

There was a time when there was a minimum height requirement on police now we have to have people of all sizes, race and sex.

Police officers should be able to look after themselves and be given the tools and green light to do so.

This country has created a rod for its own back with this namby pamby kid gloves approach to law and order.

What I’d liked to have seen there was a bunch of big burly officers come screeching round the corner and do these fuckers enough damage that they’d think twice before trying anything like this again.

Unfortunately cuts and officers with hands tied mean this can’t and wouldn’t happen.

And run the risk of being put in hospital themself or even charged with assault if their help is too heavy handed. I can understand recording the incident, it can provide vital evidence after all but the fella filming this seemed to be enjoying it too much judging by his commentary, thinking it was some sort of show put on for him

Ignoring the fact it's safe Labour seat and council and has been since year dot, given the odd anomaly.

But yes the 'Let's blame the Tories' is a very convenient socialist soundbite to refer to as default.

A government spokesman yesterday said that people can ask their council to increase the police precept element of council tax if these sort of things bother them :lol:

So that’s the social care funding problem being gradually offloaded onto council tax payers and no doubt the police shortages problem is about to follow.

Both judging by your previous post. What can the local mp do to make the government put more money into the police budget?
 
Will most likely see more reductions in cops now that govt have told forces they will have to find the millions in pension shortfalls themselves. Forces now having to find millions over next couple of year.

You mean what can the local council do to get more money from the government central budget? Not a lot. They can raise funds locally however. My point was suggesting that local governments that been virtually given hereditary power due to their voting demographics may not cope with budgetary adjustments very well.

If Iived in an particular area and I was concerned about spending it would be the local council I would approach. But it’s easier to ignore profligacy on a local level and wave the bigger political central government stick of convenience.
