Second Ashes test - Your team

Anderson will be out, I can see Moeen Ali being dropped but he will likely be "injured". Despite the defeat, I don't think wholesale changes is the way to go. Archer will replace Anderson if he gets through the 2nds game for Sussex against Gloucestershire tomorrow. Leach is likely first in line to replace Mo, He's a capable batsman too as proven at Lords last week.

The changes has to be with the batting order. I've said it before on here and I stand by this opinion, Denley would make a good opener. He's not the had the best of test matches but he could still come good in my opinion. Roy has all the talent and potential to be a good test cricketer, is that as an opener? Who knows but in my opinion, dropping down will do him the world of good. Coming in at 2nd or 3rd drop will give him a chance to play a little bit more naturally.

Burns
Denley
Root
Roy
Bairstow
Stokes
Buttler
Leach
Woakes
Broad
Archer
Pretty much spot on to me that mate
Australia, same as in first test, hope they win all matches they play. Can’t stand team they’re playing against they’re making a mockery of international sport.
Oh fuck off you absolute Plank.

There is a clip on Facebook of Archer bowling a 'juicy' delivery to some unfortunate lad playing for Gloucestershire 2nds.

He's a bit sadistic with his bouncers like.

Exactly what we need. The Aussies will act tough but a few of them will be quietly bricking it if they see him at the other end and the pitch is a bit tasty.

However, I think they'll pick the same team with Archer for Anderson. Last chance for Mo, Denley and possibly Jonny.

Olly Stone ruled out with a lower back injury. Bowlers dropping like flies at the moment. Saj Mahmood will be getting a call to come out of retirement from Ed Smith at this rate. :)

On the slip side the Aussies have a strong looking side out at Worcester. Half the first test team playing plus Starc & Hazelwood.

Ominous.
50’s for Khwaja & Head
Ton for Head.

Starc & Hazelwood a wicket each in their first over.

Does Root survive a 2nd Ashes series defeat?

As captain? Yes in my opinion. He's a relatively inexperienced test match captain (2 and a half years). Look at the ODI set up, it's taken Morgan the best part of 5 years to reach the pinnacle.
