New Music Releases Thread

Early contender for album of the first fortnight of 2022:"Recurring Dream" by Jeff Tobias. He's a member of the brilliant but increasingly hard to find a way to listen to Modern Nature but also a solo Jeff who's made a right corker of an album.
Really enjoying that one thanks for recommendation

Enjoying yard act in full too, singles didn’t click for me but as a full album it works

I’ll second this, a week late to the party but I’ve had this on the last two days and it really works for me… the music has a certain groove that pushes my buttons.
It's good, though really comes into its own in the second half of the record. I'd recommend going back and listening to the Joy Orbison record from last year if you didn't catch it then, it's also a belter.

Yard Act was decent on first listen. Maybe a track or two too long? It's quite samey. I say this about pretty much every single guitar record mind that doesn't come in at 30 mins.

Mothpuppy put a record out yesterday too. I loved the debut so I'll be giving that a go.

Me neither. Not what I was expecting for some reason.
Not me - It reminds me of Blancmange (or at least what little I’ve heard of them, mainly that “I’m so Tall” song) crossed with Sleaford Mods and Frank Sidebottom. Vocals sound too much like Woody from This is England.

I'm convinced that the chorus from Quarantine the Sticks is nicked directly from a Sleaford Mods track but I can't for the life of me put my finger on it. It's driving me insane!

Yes, The Fall are the obvious comparison for me but Sleaford Mods are another that came to mind. I really like it but as James said it could maybe be a track shorter.

Took me a few listens to get into the new Garcia People's album, loved their last one, I'm starting to enjoy the new one but its missing something from Wits end

I liked yard act album on first listen.
I got the sleaford mods comparison but I thought better ( I don’t like them though ! )
