New Music Releases Thread

I've just been sat with Jamie XX in a pub in Victoria Park. I can confirm he's a cool bastard.

He said the same about you.

For those that are into the blues, there is a Lebanese guy who lives here in Kuwait and he has just released his first album which is a very good blues album.

For those that are interested it is named Gonna Die with the Blues by the Ali Sleeq Blues Band

I see him about quite a bit and he has his own blues blog.....

I quite like that, cheers.

That there early Flaming Lips recordings compilation that got released recently is very good. Sounds nowt like the band as they are now or, indeed, as they were in their recorded pomp; but still... beyond that:

Steven Adams: s'alright but it's not a Broken Family Band album.
Belly: pleasant
Iceage: really good. As @chunkylover53 says, it's a mile away from their first couple of albums. Probably closer to the two Marching Church albums...
Leon Bridges: not quite as raw as his debut but still very enjoyable!
Damien Jurado: minimal and also very good. Uncut gave it a 6/10 review (with positive text), that's well harsh!

Great that, one of the best song he's made. Hopefully the new record is similar and more like some of his older stuff rather than his last album.

Reading his interviews a few months back it seemed like he was doing better, suppose you never can really tell.

Top man, hope he's alright.

So, new stuff this week comes from Arctic Monkeys, Beach House, Charlie Puth, Jess Williamson, Luke Winslow-King, Ry Cooder, Simian Mobile Disco, SSION, The Body, The Sea and Cake, Wajatta, La Luz, Luke Haines, Yonatan Gat and Aidan Moffatt & RM Hubbert. Also, just noticed that Birds of Chicago's new album came out digitally last week (physical version out May 25th).

A quietish week with next week bringing new albums from some thread A listers.

Looking forward to Beach House.

Not looking good at all, very worrying. He's a top bloke is Scott.
Googled "Southferry" where the hotel is. All the main photos are of very high bridges over water...that on top of the "I'm away now" tweet and the police having his phone...hope I'm just adding 2+2 = Richey Edwards and he's just gone off to be alone a bit. Fingers crossed

South Queensferry is pretty much where all 3 bridges across the Forth land.

Yup, I recognized the rail bridge in the pics. Seemed like an odd place for him to be staying when he lives in Glasgow these days (I think? He moved back from LA) - somewhere that doesn't have much but bridges. Recent police report says he left the hotel on foot at 1 am and particular attention is being paid to the Forth Road Bridge
