Isn't Aldi stocking crémant now? Will become more well known.
Sainsbury and M&S do it as well now, about £10 a bottle.

Alsace seems the most popular but I like bourgogne if you can find it. We pay about 6 euro a bottle for it. Different terroir to champagne of course but it's a very good alternative
Aye, I first started buying it on holidays in France about 10 years ago. I always thought I'd make a fortune if I could be arsed setting up a proper import operation...

@dangermows

Just picked up a bottle from Tesco there, there was only one option available, the "Julia Superiore" which I presume is the like the Smirnoff (Vodka) of the Grappa world, bog standard and nothing special.

How should I be drinking it? With Ice? Chilled? Room temp?

That's a blend, but its decent stuff.

The theory is the older the Grappa, the higher the temp it should be enjoyed at (within reason). I prefer it slightly chilled so just whack it in the fridge for half hour. Ive also had it straight from the freezer (i know the Italians often serve it that way) but whilst its nice and crisp, it seems to remove the flavour somewhat. Ive never had it over ice.
