Cheese, fatty foods. I've had the same problem. Certain meals have had me running to the toilet..Literally, 15 mins after eating certain things I'm shitting them out.. I'm going to start keeping a food diary, try to work the fucker out
  2. I don't think there is a particular theme with my stomach, I have had mega burgers and been fine, but I would say that food that is grease heavy definitely makes it worse.

Deffo IBS imo, my oldest son has this. Fatty foods are a no go for him, he used to love normal lad stuff like pizza and kebab and the poor lad can't eat it now.
  4. Might make exactly the same tomorrow and see if it happens again.

Suppose it's beneficial in a dieting sense mind.

However the thought of not being able to have a git big greasy kebab is awful.

    Can he drink with it?

Lager and cider aye, to a point any way. Spirits are a no no, he had bother for a few years after leaving school but one bowl of all bran I gave him a few years ago destroyed him and after a quick read up I was sure it was IBS.
Stool samples and blood tests proved it to be so, it's a twat more than anything else as a 21 year old lad, having to pass on things everyone else pouches.

Fatty food, fibre and chocolate / caffine can make him have cramps and the shits within an hour or two.

Skyr seems to have really helped settle him down more than anything else but everyone is different I think with this condition.

Most people I know who do it gan out and get absolutely bladdered through February to make up for it.

Drinking is an absolutely fantastic part of British culture, as is the pub.

Gan and see your GP mate, I'm just a google doctor, not a proper one.

  7. I will have a git big bowl of all bran tomorrow then and see what happens lol.

Coffee gives me the shits too, especially milky coffee. Must be hard for him being 21 and having that like. Saying that I am only 24 so will be a bit gutted too.

So spirits are a no go?

I will do mate. I was only in there for something earlier today and there last week, I literally live there at the minute I'm sure they have just stopped listening to me now haha.

Could be dairy intolerance if cheese and milk are knacking you.

Aye, spirits can make him shite within 20 minute thats the honest truth. It's shit for a young lad but many a thing worse you could end up with. The fibre thing can end up casuing problems long term though so you need to get to a doctor and if it is IBS have blood work done every year to check for knock on problems.

I'm not saying don't drink. I don't think official guidance is to not drink.

I think we've reached a point where alcohol is becoming really harmful to our society.

It's a wonderful social lubricant. I really love few things more than just sitting in a pub with three or four of my best friends that I went to school with and just drinking and talking all day, getting slowly hammered as the day goes on. I'm not anti-alcohol at all. I drink, I just don't drink often. I'd be surprised if I consume more than 200-300 units of alcohol a year (compared to the government guidelines of about 700 a year).

Unfortunately the levels of alcohol we're consuming - I believe - are way above that, and I think that's reflected in the increased incidence of liver disease, the rising rate of alcohol-related and alcohol-specific deaths, the rate of alcohol-related A&E admissions.

This is also a possibility like, loads of people have bother with dairy. Best bet is to get to the doctors mate.

No need for lube if you squirt water out ya hoop marra, that said I think it ends up as acid rather than water so lube maybe a good idea.

  13. Thing is though it doesn't always, I have 5 cups of tea on average a day and they don't do anything. Think if I neck a pint of milk I will soon find out?

Will get it checked next week marra

If you don't mind squirting have a go

Serious question, does your shite have an odd smell when your guts kick off. Even though it may be the shits it smells almost bitter, not like normal diarrhoea or crap with IBS.
  15. Completely agree with you there mind, part of the reason I have knocked it on the head is seeing the way in which it is wholely accepted in our society to be hammered every single week. Got to remember we are made up mostly of liquid and soft tissue.

    Aye mate it does, why?

Just going from my lad but the smell that comes out of his arse when he flares up with a bout of IBS is a very odd and distinctive smell. Get yourself to the gp mate, nowt ot be ashamed of regardless.
  17. Will do marra.

Not complaining at this moment in time like as I'm trying to shift a bit timber haha!

Tons of the fuckers at work mate, pisses me off as they're so in your face at how wonderful they are and how strong willed. When you tell them they'e already failed by drinking after midnight on NYE, you'e met with a blank vacant stare.
