Fair enough a years ban for the team concerned in the competition.Banning both does nothing for local clubs in these still testing times .The League filling their coffers by £100 is a further over the top reaction.Yorkshire got away with moreMy club conceded a second team cup-tie earlier this season. We were fined £100 and both teams - 1sts and 2nds - banned for two seasons.
The NEPL have looked at clubs, potentially, in "Promotion" positions in both NTCL and DNECL.
They are Tynedale, Newcastle City, Swalwell, Morpeth and Consett from NTCL, and
Brandon, Durham City, Seaham Harbour, Littletown and South Shields from DNECL.
2 clubs do NOT have Clubmark, and are therefore not eligible for promotion.
They are Newcastle City AND........ Brandon !!
So essentially both clubs currently in the top spots in both leagues don't meet the criteria! Makes a farce of it really. The NEPL have looked at clubs, potentially, in "Promotion" positions in both NTCL and DNECL.

7 clubs out of 9 have it !!
Best team in the League by a mile. Absolutely pummelled Tudhoe & the CA in recent weeks who are fighting for 2nd along with Evenwood.Mainsforth have won DNECL Division Two.

Should just be game abandoned, 5 points each plus bonus points. Dunno when this rule got slipped inThe League need to look at the rules for rain affected games and how the team batting 2nd has a massive advantage. The CA were 172-8 off their 45 and had Evenwood 123-6 off 30.3. On normal DL method it's a tie (I'm 99.9% sure as used every calculator possible) but Evenwood get the win as it's on Run Rate which is a joke. They could've been 123-9 at the same stage and got the win. The CA were gonna win hands down as well I've no doubt about it but it is what it is the rain, but the joke rule of Run Rate may of ruined their promotion push
The Rule needs looked into for next season
Disagree, it should be Duckworth Lewis, which is what several wanted using the app. The run rate rule came in upon league formation/merger because “it was easier for umpires to work out who didn’t have smart phones” (yes that was the exact rationale given much to the bemusement of some).Should just be game abandoned, 5 points each plus bonus points. Unlike now where the team batting first are at a huge disadvantage. D/L is the fairest way to decide a result as the more wickets you lose second innings the higher a score you need to get to win where as run rate makes wickets irrelevantPersonally don't think DL calcs works at this level either as generally pitches are poorly covered and more affected when rain comes, then there is the outfeilds which always slow down dramatically as unlike the pros there isn't many tools to mop up the water too so the team batting 2nd will now be at a big disadvantage.
Thank you for clarifying. Its all rather bemusing to me either way!Disagree, it should be Duckworth Lewis, which is what several wanted using the app. The run rate rule came in upon league formation/merger because “it was easier for umpires to work out who didn’t have smart phones” (yes that was the exact rationale given much to the bemusement of some).
Hopefully someone proposes a move to DL and then it will sort out any issues with rain affected games.
Agree with you. Very frustrating. As above, hopefully it is proposed and subsequently voted in.
It’s very easy to calculate using the app, even if umpires don’t use smart phones![]()
The current way isn't fair thats for certain. Just wish there could be a better calculation for amateurs than D/L. Im sure it will change to that and then people will start batting first when rain is around.Unlike now where the team batting first are at a huge disadvantage. To be fair mate, 80 behind with 6 wickets in hand sounds like it's in the batting teams hand......??Smiliar happened in our league this weekend (not us thankfully). Belmont beat Tudhoe despite being 80 odd short with 6 wickets in hand. I'd have bet my house that Tudhoe would have got those 6 wickets. That result has probably kept Belmont up and ruled out Tudhoe going up

How many overs were left....?
