by design? I'd be surprised if GM was happy to while away his time in the DNECL indefinitely.Surely that can’t be right. It basically means Brandon are effectively stopping any other DNECL team getting promotion to NEPL.

be interesting to know if Durham City had put their Clubmark in placeSurely Brandon have got their clubmark status sorted by now? If not, whats stopping them? Would be very short sighted / embarrassing for them to paying the sorts of money that they are for players and not to have this sorted.
I ended up playing! Sorry I didn't let myself known - I was the fat lad in slip (obvs).I didnt have much fun against your seconds on Saturday@Hilly
Very few runs and hand is currently bandaged up![]()

Was a good game - pitch was a bit spicy!![]()
Don't think so. Probably our 'other' big lad. He can hit it like a cannon. I came in at 4, got hit in the lid off a ball from a good length and thought "sod this for a game of soldiers", got a quickfire 20 then got caught!Aye it waswas me who was caught at silly point early doors when it shot up off the track
Wasn't you who brayed one through covers and cracked my fingers was it?saved a boundary off it mind

Not sure if there is a way of finding which clubs do and don't have club mark?be interesting to know if Durham City had put their Clubmark in place
Just found it on their website (shows on top of play cricket page) Durham City do have clubmark in place. Brandon currently do not.be interesting to know if Durham City had put their Clubmark in place
Brandon were given 2 seasons to do Clubmark when they were in the NEPL. They failed to do it. All clubs seeking promotion know they have to have Clubmark.Apparently whoever finishes 2nd can't go into a playoff if the team from the NTSCL want to go up only reason Philli got the chance was for similar reasons a few years ago.
Feel a bit for Brandon as Durham Cricket Board didn't exactly publish or make it well known that clubmark was open we only found out by chance and hit a very tight deadline.
Philli got promoted as the NTSCL couldn't or didn't want to be promoted either. As I said though feel for them as Club Mark has been closed for two years and only recently opened and wasn't advertise by the DCBBrandon were given 2 seasons to do Clubmark when they were in the NEPL. They failed to do it. All clubs seeking promotion know they have to have Clubmark.
Philli got promoted because Easington did not want promotion and did not make any attempt to get Clubmark.
Brandon would be an excellent addition to NEPL. Good facilities and good team. Get the clubmark and get promoted !
Rule should be you are promoted to nepl and if you don’t get clubmark within a certain time, you are relegated. Otherwise it’s making a mockery of the pyramid system.
Brandon’s a great club with great facilities but seriously what’s the point of GM hitting tons every week in the third tier?
On the other hand, don’t pay players until you’ve got the requisite stuff in place whether it be facilities, youth, 3rd team or clubmark.
Not a sleight against Brandon btw, good club when I’ve been.
Mmmm…sounds like an admin error then ?As I understand it, clubmark is nothing whatsoever to do with money so that’s a moot point.
A quick glance at the criteria required tells me that Brandon CC meet every single one of them with flying colours.
Where I think the problem lies (and this is purely an assumption based on what I can judge for myself) is that given the ECB website had a closing date of June 2022 for the evidence - they must’ve missed the cut-off with regards to supplying the evidence.
It’s a massive shame for everyone involved at Brandon given what they club looks like today and knowing how hard various people have worked to get there, but rules are rules I suppose.
Mind I do tend to remember the Northern League in football used to require you to achieve whatever criteria they wished for you to achieve by 31 March of the season following a promotion.
It doesn’t say much for administrative side of the club if clubmark couldn’t be organised. All clubs, NEPL or aspiring know the deal at committee level and what needs to be done to get the accreditation in place or renewed. As I understand it, clubmark is nothing whatsoever to do with money so that’s a moot point.
