Manchester Star Ale is lush
Mr M’s Porter by the Red Cat Brewery is fab too.
Star Ale is indeed amazing, but Sainsbury's have stopped stocking it. Where can you get it these days?

Tesco do a really nice one, collaboration between yeasty boys and vocational breweries. £3 a can mind.
My local Tesco doesn’t sell it, or any other stouts for that matter Loads of IPAs though!

Blueberry waffle stout. Would be a fiver a can in places like Lou's, Hop Knocker etc.
It was reduced to £2 a can a couple of weeks ago so got a couple, along with the 7% hazy Vocation IPA they stock as well.
Riviera Brewery Chocolate Orange Stout May be a good one.Haven't got many dark beers in my collection. Is there a local /regional variety I should be looking out for when am back next ?

Not yet but I can now transfer from keg to bottle so I’ll put a couple aside for you.Is it bottled ? I only have the double chocolate stout from Young's in my collection. I enjoyed that one a lot.

I’m going to have a few brews before you come over so I’ll bottle one of each for you. That would be wonderful. Mange tak.

Got to give a mention to Durham Brewery's Russian Imperial Stout, especially the limited edition aged in a whisky barrel. Comes in at around 11%, so it's one to savour on a winter evening when the toddler has (finally) gone to sleep. But very rich and much smoother on the palate than you'd expect at that strength.
Dunno if they're still doing it, but they also had a white stout. Looked like a bitter, tasted like a stout. Hard getting my head round it at first, but an interesting idea.
