Dark beer lovers!!

Had Wylam’s A Warning to the Curious yesterday. A salted orange Porter. Lovely pint. Expensive at 9 quid a pint but I’d recommend it

I take it you are Danish by your avatar?
I visit Copenhagen on a regular basis as I'm a big fan of the Danish national team. You have two beers I've tried over there and like. One is Rode Tuborg, the other is Jacobsen brown ale. Better than what we have here IMO. You should import that rather than bog standard Fizzy Carlsberg.
They hate to see it leave iirc

When it comes to Tuborg I prefer the Golden Lady over Rød. And I don't mind a standard Carlsberg. As long as it is our standard with 4.6 and not the oddly thin stuff served in the UK.

The variety of Jacobsen is growing by the year it seems with a couple more being added later this year.

My local brewery, Warwik, produces some decent ones as well. I know it is a longshot as my hometown is at the other end to Copenhagen but if you stumble across some of their bottles give this porter a go. Much nice it is. Skafte

The Plum Porter in the Promenade was spot on, I saw a different brand in Morrisons 4 for 6 quid this morning. Spent last week in Krakow drinking ksiazece porter, put hairs on your toilet that stuff.

Not usually a fan of dark beers, but had a couple of pints of Black isle brewery porter last night. Stunning.

Enjoyed Beaverton black Betty a couple of years back too.

Supping the Asda Denver milk stout right now. Had it before but other than thinking it was canny I couldn't remember much. Not bad at all especially for £1.25 a can. Better than some I've paid a lot more for.

Got to give a mention to Durham Brewery's Russian Imperial Stout, especially the limited edition aged in a whisky barrel. Comes in at around 11%, so it's one to savour on a winter evening when the toddler has (finally) gone to sleep. But very rich and much smoother on the palate than you'd expect at that strength.

Dunno if they're still doing it, but they also had a white stout. Looked like a bitter, tasted like a stout. Hard getting my head round it at first, but an interesting idea.
Not had that one but the Durham brewery is superb.

I’m planning on going over for another Denmark game later in year. I’ll look out for it when I’m there. There was another one I was drinking over there called Grimbergen that I enjoyed. Seemed more Belgian than Danish but I’ve only seen it in Denmark.
Some of the Mikkeler stuff is good as well but pricey.

Currently supping on a Black Sheep Chocolate Orange Stout. £1.70 a bottle from Morrisons. Rather nice.
Had a bottle of Guinness West Indies Porter earlier.
