I don‘t think you understand that Radio Newcastle is meant to be impartial to all of the area. It’s tag line is “Radio for the North East”. It managed to stay impartial for many years with its live match coverage till the FM decision.

As long as it's called Radio Newcastle it's never going to be impartial. The clue is literally in its name.

Why say it’s never gonna be impartial when it has been for the last 30 years in terms of equal match coverage???

The bio on their official page literally says BBC Radio Newcastle - Radio for the North East including Northumberland, Sunderland and County Durham.

I couldn't care less what their bio says. They are called Radio Newcastle, Newcastle are in the Premier League and we are in League One. Ultimately they'll do what they think will pull in the most listeners. Simple as that.

The key is though in the past they paid lip service to being impartial and the alternating of the fm frequency for matches was a very small and( cost free to them)way of of saying look were not biased...........Now they have done away with that and are blatantly being biased and dont give a shit who knows it!Yes we could just not listen to newcastle it but there is no other free source for the Sunderland games!Lots of people only source for the match is radio Newcastle and they deserve a premium service! I do get narked by some folk on here who never listen to the radio and state it doesnt matter! yes it does!

You're making a mountain out of a molehill man. It's hardly like you can't listen to SAFC on there anymore. People just desperate to look for something to get worked up about.
Fair enough although I was in my car recently and couldn’t listen as only have FM there.

i rang today, i was told its a director level decision, and they would not put me through to Alfie.
Schoolboy error BTM..you need to introduce the subject while you are on air for something else so they cannot sensor you!

There's bigger things going on out there than us not getting quite as much radio exposure as a team playing 2 leagues above us. It's hardky like they've stopped covering our games. Get yourself some perspective and stop the constant twisting!

If you don't see the problem well i pity you! Its about principles and i guess you don't have any ....and the cheap shot about constant twisting !how does that work for you in real life? Or do you save it for the anonymity of a web forum?

No I'd happily call you a whining sod to your face.

I just wouldn't listen. Look at the title of the radio station. Like a lot of things in the NE, it's biased towards them lot.

Find an alternative way of sourcing the match.

Easy to say for some, but there’ll be older lads & lasses who reply on the radio or (“wireless”) as their only access to SAFC games.

They’ll have paid or be paying a license fee for years, so really should expect the same and impartial service from the BBC… I don’t understand how people don’t see any issue with that?

Tell that to my 80 year old Uncle who has a rubbish DAB connection.

Buy him a booster, they are available. If there is a problem find a solution, that's the trouble with society today, people want everything handed to them on a plate.
