They wouldn’t have made the choice they have if we were in the Premier League and that’s not their fault.

If league positions were swapped and we were on FM all the time, this place would be saying tough shit we are in the top division and you cannot deny that.
That would be fair enough if it was funded by advertising or if local interest in SAFC had fallen massively away because of relegations. It only bothers me in principle like because I'm either at the match or streaming it, but I'm sure it's fucked some people over.

Wearside and Tyneside is not NUFC and SAFC

It does do equality just you want it exclusively on the main platform, commentary is provided on every SAFC and NUFC game

DAB wasn't a thing 30 years ago.
I think you may be biased or a little egotistical.in terms of numbers tyne & wear is safc and nufc...... nufc are broadcast on a superior and widespread system ...... There was absolutely no need to change an longstanding and equitable system and it stinks.

Not biased or egotistical at all, I think you're a little preoccupied with this bias thing.

I'm sure you'd have exactly the same view and be speaking up in favour of the mags if the situation was reversed....................................

In reality you'd be lapping it up and taking the piss.

The club does not have the same attendances or standing it had a few years ago

Egotistical deffo! Telling people what they think and sticking to an opinion despite the evidence to the contrary makes you the poster boy for ego incorporated with a side order of obstinacy.

There is absolutely no evidence that BBC Newcastle is biased at all, just a few opinions on a message board is not evidence...............................

I'll leave it there

I will leave it with there was no reason to change what was a equitable broadcast system that had been in place for years that served the vast numbers of nufc and safc fans and bbc license payers fairly and equally! You see opinion! well I see reasoned argument and alas i think that's to much new ground for you !

I struggle to understand why this is such a big issue for so many. I understand that not everyone has a DAB radio at home or in their car. However, a little portable DAB radio isn't necessarily the most expensive thing in the world and are easy enough to get hold of.

The thing that really leaves me puzzled is the confusion about listening to Radio Newcastle through a TV. If you live in the North East and your TV is capable of terrestrial TV reception, you can listen to Radio Newcastle through your telly. I was doing it years ago on an old tube TV and a cheap (digital) set top box. As there are no analogue TV broadcasts now, anyone getting terrestrial TV reception can get the radio on it. A smart TV is not necessary to get Freeview.

For anyone at the extremities of the region, Freeview Ch 719 is a better option than either DAB or FM broadcasts. FM and DAB reception is pretty sketchy south of the Tees. Ch 719 on Freeview is available deep into North Yorkshire. Us being on 719 actually means that SAFC commentary is available to far more people than if we were on FM.
The folks that might struggle with Freeview 719 are those that have done away with their terrestrial aerial in favour of Sky (satellite), cable or internet streaming.

I never mentioned Sky because, as I've never had it, I wouldn't have a clue.
Struggling pensioners can't afford a new dab radio.
They are quite happy with the FM radio the currently have?
Which is fair enough, but do they not have Freeview TV? If they can't afford a DAB radio, I doubt they'll be paying for subscription TV.

Look North Newcastle tonight not one mention of football at the beginning any other time it’s always mentioned on the lead headlines . Wonder why the silence .😡
Cos the black and white vermin got Royally howked and shown up for the shit they are. Come up against a half decent team and got rove to bits?
Just a rough guess.
