I tried to post this yesterday but fucked it up. Is this what you were on about earlier in the thread? Carriage availability at the bottom. It's a feature at most stations (except Sunlun, obvs).

no you don't. you reserve a seat, but you don't pay for the seat.Yes you do. If you book a specific train and reserve a seat, then you pay for the seat. If you just buy a ticket and get on the train you pay for the transport, not a seat

no. ticket gives you a right to travel, not the right to a seat. the seat is complementary but the ticket reservation doesn't 'entitle' you to a seat. why do you think the guards never force people to move when they're in your seat?Ok "Reserve". Smart arse. Either way you have paid for your travel and specifically your travel in that seat
I've been on the kings cross to durham on quite a few occasions where the heating is stuck on in the carriage i've been on, during the warmer months. Thankfully the generous folk of GNER/ Virgin/ LNER or whatever they want to call themselves this week usually offer a free bottle of small water.

its not like the TGV in France where when you pay for a ticket you have to travel in your seat (there's no standing allowed)
i completely agree with you. unfortunately not everybody else carries the same morals as you do.Interesting... Surely if you've booked a seat people should move for you if you've booked it.
What if the train journey is part of their working day and they have to work?Bores doing work on laptops

you're either a very nice person or the greatest virtue signaller in living history. based on what i know of you, i'd say the former, but you never knowI might need you to frame that and post it the next time they're called into question on here
