Looking at that video you can't see many faces so don't know any of the families involved. Saying that I've lived in or around Hetton for most of my life and don't know the vast majority of people these days, especially who the shithouses are around here. All I know is that they appear to be a growing majority. Don't think Hetton's alone in that though.Just what I’ve seen on Twitter. There’s a woman helping them campaign against the joint enterprise convictions, her Twitter handle is @Jliffe. She posted a little video from outside and looks like loads of family and friends turned up and were surprised when only one person per family was allowed to go in.
The Britannia pub in Houghton next to where it happened has decided to not even open today so they’re obviously anticipating bother later on.
Exactly the kind of people I expected them to be, no surprise that the police wouldnt allow them in to disrupt proceedings.
Why weren't they nicked for contempt of court?
Because as one of them keeps repeating "You can't tell me what to do" seeing the families, I get a feeling of how the kids will be.Why weren't they nicked for contempt of court?
Her son was done for joint enterprise as he was one of the group jailed for the murder of Gary Newlove who was beaten to death by a gang of youths in Warrington a few years back.
They seem lovely people….
I find this hard to believe.
I don’t get her angle.
The law is clear in that if you are a secondary party that encourages or assists the principal offender then you are guilty of the principal offence. How is that unfair?
Asking the police officer if he knows what joint enterprise is, is like asking a bus driver to explain the intricate workings of the internal combustion engine.
Dodgey ground this mind. Be loads of people claiming 'I was there but couldn't stop it and didn't touch him'. Hard to prove either wayHer son was done for joint enterprise as he was one of the group jailed for the murder of Gary Newlove who was beaten to death by a gang of youths in Warrington a few years back.
Ah, so her son was involved in kicking an innocent father to death so she tries to get other scumbags off.Her son was done for joint enterprise as he was one of the group jailed for the murder of Gary Newlove who was beaten to death by a gang of youths in Warrington a few years back.
I find that account hard to believe. On one of the tweets says they should have been charged for GBH Erm, the lad died. Also continually refers to British legal system, even though the English & Welsh legal system is entirely different to Scotland/NI.
I find this hard to believe.
If my bairn or family member committed a crime like that I would utterly condemn it. I’d still love them, but would agree they deserve whatever they get sentenced.
Every kid other than their own is guilty? Lovely kid, fell into the wrong crowd etc.I ask any of these parents opposing joint enterprise to explain how they would be regards this had it been their child that had be brutally killed ya crazed pack of idiots. Lock them up and throw away the key as far as I’m concerned.
yeah, keeps shouting that. where is he, at the bottom of the stairs outside the court, exactly where he was directedBecause as one of them keeps repeating "You can't tell me what to do" seeing the families, I get a feeling of how the kids will be.
Shouldn’t see light of day again the evil bastards.Every kid other than their own is guilty? Lovely kid, fell into the wrong crowd etc.
