No I didn't. Go back and read what I did say.

I'll sum it up for you. As a Newcastle supporter, the Saudi funding is great for us in terms of improving the club. We will enjoy that, in the same way the the PSG and Man City fans are enjoying their ownership and where it's taken their clubs.

The human rights atrocities that Saudi Arabia commit are bad. I wish they'd pack it in and I condemn them. They're not being committed in support of my club though, and my club doesn't benefit from them in any way. If I stop supporting my club it will not force the Saudis to change their culture which has been set in its ways for quite a bit longer than they've owned our club. So not only do I not want to stop supporting Newcastle, it also wouldn't have any positive effect even if I did.

Can't make it any clearer than that for you, if you still can't wrap your head around it it's on you. Please stop trying to twist my posts into something they're not
Well fuck off from the board then you acceptor of atrocities committed by your owners but as long as they pump money into your club that’s ok ! Pointless you being on here because the attitude of many supporters up and down the country towards your mercenary club/management/players is just going to get worse. Just suck it up your club is morally bankrupt as are its plastic supporters (the 92ers )

You're putting words in my mouth here. I never said that you couldn't complain, I said that the level of histrionics that a lot of Newcastle fans went to was embarrassing. Nothing wrong with wanting more for your club, the way your lot went on was f***ing ridiculous.

About the signings, again, I've never said they were disappointing or bad. Reasonable enough players for a lower league PL team. The point I was alluding is - was it worth it? All the Ashley shite, the 18-month courting of the Saudis, the nearly-year long defence of their actions and the constant deflections, all so you could sign f***ing Chris Wood and Nick Pope? Really?
But our protests were in line with other teams' protests. West Ham, Leeds, have had protests, Man Utd fans set up an entirely new football team because they didn't want to be owned by the Glazers, Arsenal, the list goes on. If I'm honest, I think that the way your club has been run was deserving of more of a reaction from your fans. Not saying you have to go out and punch a horse, but I can't remember seeing any banners, or organised walkouts, or boycotts.

I think there's a few things to unpack here.

Getting rid of Ashley is a good thing for this club, and pragmatic, sensible improvement is way, way better than scattergun recruitment.
Fans defending the Saudi regime are wrong to do it.
Sometimes it's tricky to separate legitimate concerns about that state owning a football club, from petty football rivalry. Take your man Exile for example, his twitter feed is him saying how awful the Saudis are but includes the last time Newcastle beat Sunderland in the same tweet. Now, is he actually enraged about the Saudis owning a football club, or does he just hate NUFC?
We have signed Chris Wood and Nick Pope, both are upgrades on what we had (Wood > Gayle, Pope > Dubravka), but we've also signed Bruno and Botman who are several levels above Shelvey and Lascelles.

And, given the power to reject the Saudi bid falls in the hands of Ashley, the PL, the FA, and the British Government, there's not much we can do about it.
To start with yes as it was at the point where for you lot it was anyone but Ashley but without investment I think the initial honeymoon period would have disappeared rapidly.

Investment and a good cup run are often used as reasons for wanting Ashley out.

Last decade brighton have spent neck end of 350m you lot have spent neck end of 650m

Last decade in the two major cups Brighton have made the semi finals once, you lot have made the quarters once

Some clear evidence that the brighton model was unlikely to be acceptable.

Since Ashley bought us, Brighton have come from League 1, to the Premier League. They're now a legitimate PL club with aspirations of top half, a good manager, sound long term planning, a brand new stadium, brand new training ground, with a category 1 academy. They look every inch a progressive, ambitious top flight club.

That's investment.

Brighton have been in the league 5 seasons, average finish = 14.6
What's Ashleys again.🤔

It's now Brighton and Palace you waffle on about.
Not so long ago it was Watford and Bournemouth.

Just face it yous don't want to be sensible well run club like the ones mentioned, you want to be like City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

When Ashley couldn't deliver that you threw your toys out the pram.
If the Saudis don't deliver you'll do exactly the same.

That's the biased Sunderland fan in you talking.

Would you, from where you are now, like to be challenging for titles, watching world class stars play great football? Yes, of course you would.
Would you, from where you are now, like to be a well run Premier League outfit having a go at the cups, watching good players play good football and striving to be better? Yes, of course you would.

How is that any different for Newcastle fans? It isn't.

I guess I grew out of hating you lot in my teens. Of course I want your team to languish in the lower leagues, get beaten by Luton, have players take the piss like Rodwell did, and all that. But I don't hate you all. You just support a different football team. It'd be like hating someone who aren't fans of the bands I am. It's just a bit childish, isn't it?

It's not biased.
If Ashley splashed the cash you lot wouldn't give a fuck about scouting networks, training ground improvements and Sports Direct advertising.

Do you think the thousands of scumbags celebrating with tea towels on their heads and waving Saudi flags did so because they might improve the training ground or set up a better scouting network.🤔

If the Saudis don't deliver the arseholes celebrating will be hounding them out.

No need to reply you know I'm right.

If we merged the Clubs I'd still hate you. I'm repulsed by what the Saudis do, as I'm repulsed by what Putin is doing & what Hitler did. I'm disappointed as I have Mag mates who were there pre the "Geordie Nation" & have seen some shit now jumping around with tea towels on their heeds celebrating a Brutal Dictators money. It gives me a giggle when I see the bile replies on Twitter & just yesterday in the Mag which has turned from an excellent fanzine in the 80s like A love supreme to a parade of terrorist loving 1992ers who have us Rent free in their heads. I hope they build a 100k stadium on the Raceciurse as give it 5 years it'll be the biggest white elephant the world has ever seen.

It's up for debate as these are the seasons positions and what European competition you qualified for. Those in red are what you would call back door entries into Europe due to being a losing finalist in the FA Cup or going into the Intertoto.

Ignoring the fact overspending during the growth of the blossoming Premier League revenue years it's still impressive. It's something for us mackems to be jealous of but it's not as impressive as you're trying to make out and certainly not something you consistently did in prior seasons.

You simply reverted to type once the money stopped being thrown around when Hall bailed. Ashley came in without due
diligence and ended up throwing money he had into covering the deb and realising the mess the club was int. Money throwing has started again but it's not like Hall did the 90's as you're not breaking transfer records paying Mbappe £500k a week but rather buying Premier League plodders and unknowns who aren't proven Premier League. Enjoy it while you can as hopefully you end up in a worse situation than Everton due to lack of success and increased revenue.

Unless The Fish is doing the fishing then the delusion is strong with this one
I thought the way they went on they were champions league regulars.

Exactly 14th!

This, this right here is why it's funny chatting with you Binxy. There were "Thousands" were there? If there were thousands wearing tea towels and waving Saudi flags you can prove it. But there wasn't, so you can't. But if you make this hysterical claim on here often enough, it becomes gospel.

I think the thousands celebrating Ashley's departure would have celebrated just as wildly if it were the Orleggi group, or Mauriss. I think if was the Mexicans you'd have seen a few dickheads in sombreros and ponchos. Because dickheads will be dickheads.

You conjure the worst possible position for Newcastle fans, and insist that it's true. Without proof, without the need for evidence, it's just your petty prejudice.

And it's funny to watch.

OK you'll convince yourself eventually.

What about the 100k petition?
I guess they just wanted investment in the region.

Had a bit of a chuckle at his claims in his comments about working with mackems down the docks and they were lazy. As if supporting a football club determines how hard you work 😂 The arrogance and delusion knows no bounds.

He is a pathetic, lonely racist old man.

Binxy man, we've been over this, the Saudi bid was the only show in town. Had the other groups had a bid accepted and the Saudis weren't around there'd have been 100k signatures trying to get that one through and all.

OK if you say so.

If there was multiple bids on the table there's only one set the fans would have wanted.

You know it and everyone knows it.
