I'm in favour of adopting something new. The current badge and nanning of the SoL were relatively controversial at the time they were unveiled by Murray.

With new owners it's definitely time to have local artists come up with designs and put it to a vote.

I like the idea of the back cat, but I have terrible thoughts of it either looking like the Hull badge, or even worse something like this:

Fair enough change the current one but plenty of fans have grown up with the new one the way I did with the old one. So why go back to it 🤷‍♂️

Not upset, old, mistype and that. The ship badge was my badge as a teenager, it will always be special. I had the new one tattooed on me so not exactly objectionable to it. Standing on the Roker End in sub-zero temperatures is the memory I will take to my grave.
 
Born 89, the ship badge is miles better and it should never have been changed in the first place. One of the those strange memories you have, but I recall a letter in ALS (or the Echo) at the time with someone saying they would boo and spit on the team for wearing the new badge :lol:

What’s Marseilles grounds name? Or old name? We’ve ripped off Benfica so why stop there?

There’s 21 polo shirts worth of dad/brother/husband/boyfriend/uncle/son in law/son etc Xmas and birthday presents in red, white and black reet there. Nivver mind other colours. Gan on Kyrille son you’ll have your money back in no time.
