Daily Mail article on Maja transfer

I'm fairly sure in one of their first podcast appearances they said they wouldn't pay goal bonuses either. I think their argument was they're already getting paid to do a job so why should they, being strikers in this case, get more money on top for doing their job.
you could be right..i cant quite remember if they said that or not..but im certainly not going to state they didnt say it because they definitely commented on that general theme.
quinny got rid of bosnues for not geting relegated which seems very sesible..but there has to be a bonus structure somewhere.

He hasn't made a pigs ear of it all, and hes leaving becauuse he said at the start if he felt the fans didnt want him he would leave. The mistake he made was listening to the stupid fan group statement which isn't the opinion of a lot of the fans
What about the Grigg saying? Appointing Ross? The failure to secure the FPP deal?

According to you he's the perfect owner who never lies.

So why did he try to sell to Mark Campbell last summer, I don't recall fans wanting him out at that point?
he always said he would sell some shares..would have to..bu wnated to stay involved..now he wants totally ouyt..

campbell deal was never close becayse the lad hadnt a pot to piss in..

whe he said he was accountable for and responsible for all tranfers...we know from the SD grigg thing that was not the case..ironically we know it in away that makes ross mook much better.

I'm not sure it's as black and white as he must be a liar because of that case. Maybe as manager he was trying to shoulder the blame and not lose face.

If Ross is a liar then so is Donald because he was the one signing players. So what else is Donald lying about?

Calling someone a liar based on that is abuse without knowing the full details. Maybe he was simply protecting Donald, maybe Donald had told him to say that.

You don't like people 'abusing' Donald or Methven, but are quite happy to abuse others. Your lack of self awareness is yet again astonishing.

Yet, as we've already discussed, Donald told Ross to liaise with Campbell regarding transfers. You don't do that if you're just selling some shares to the bloke surely?

well we know jack ross is a liar..thats been proven, though dont say he is in this instace.
but this article is clearly from majas agaent...who does have an axe to grind.
How has it been proven??
Also why would the agent have an axe to grind? Deal went well for him, Bordeaux and Maja.

Looks like Bullshit from the Mail.
"But, desperate to ensure they received some money, Sunderland are understood to have asked Maja's camp if they could persuade Bordeaux to do the deal in January allowing them to bank around €1.5m then rather than the compensation of less than €500,000 they would have received had Maja moved at the end of his contract."
and
"Especially galling for Sunderland will be that it would have cost them under £200,000 in wages to keep 16-goal Maja until the end of the season and retain their best hope of promotion in the process. "

Doesn't stand up to scrutiny logically or reality, financial or football wise.
We could
They refused to give him what he wanted which in the grand scheme of things was pennies and we end up with Wyke and Grigg.
With the possibilty of another season in Div 1 with an £8,000 a week wage bill.
Could have put the cost of tickets up to pay him.

but thats not what lyle taylor said..not on wages..you know more than him about it?

is bramble still dead by the way?
people think imkew to this board but..i remember you from last time around..

Watch the programme. On one hand they said they'd offer the max and to give him a deadline then explore the market and pointed out he was being unrealistic. Then when they 'lost' the standoff they played the victim card and made out they'd offered everything they could. Well it can't be both. The truth will be that the agent was a shithouse they always are - but also that the club ballsed up. They ballsed up in the previous administration first or rather stopped caring, then in the early days of this one when they took their eye off the ball, then it seems like they played hard ball and ego's got involved and ended up losing promotion and both overpayed and cost themselves the benefits of promotion. Anyone saying this whole saga was played well by the club is a loon.

we know donald is a liar as well. he wasnt siging players though..he asked roas who he wanted..ross said grigg was first choice..so doald got him. thats ross picking the player..not donald..but donald obviously ignored ross and hill and wet ad paid the money..he didnt lie about that hough..he told us on onne of the podcasts he did that..he told us "the football department" told him to stop bidding..i took it he meant hill and wanted to prtect him..didnt know it was hill and ross who both told him.

He would have had a £3.5m release clause. Giving the interest in him he would left in the summer.

Anyone tweeted "The Don" to ask if he's contacted the solicitors about this, because he was always quick to refute things that weren't true.

i dont know of anyone saying the club played this saga well..even stewart donald dioesnt think he played it well..as he acknowledged..

i don think promotionw as a certainty if mahja had a=stayed,.w.e werent in the promotion places when he left and ross would still have been a mornic manager...bu of course it was more likely we would have gonne up with maja than with grigg..

his soclitors are already dealding withe the mail about the last lot of lies..those lies were very obvious though..this is different..i mean there is some stuff in it trhats clearly bollox..but none thats actionable..and most of ot os stuff donald long ago confirmed..

The 3.5 million release clause is shite mind. He’d have been snapped up in the summer regardless if they’d have offered him that. In my opinion he’d have been worth a lot more than that if he was under a 4 year contract. The fullback Justin went to Leicester from Luton for like 6-7 million and I think he was entering the final year of his deal.

I’m no defender of Donald. They handled it awfully, they sat on the podcasts hammering the agent (aswell as other agents in previous podcasts) and they also said they’d sit down and talk to Josh without his agent, which to me sounded like they were gonna put pressure on him to sign. However, what I would say is that that article is very 1 sounded and sounds like the agent was the source for all this information. For example, do they know that Maja wanted to stay here?
