I've never said that Sunderland aren't the 'bigger' club .
Having said that - a 'bigger' club (whatever that's meant to mean) doesn't have to mean BETTER club - that's all relative to who you support, surely.
Oh yeah - you havent won the League cup or the mighty Anglo Scottish cup:cool:.
You say you've had more seasons in the top division - but you've also had more seasons in the THIRD tier !
That might be about to change.

Remember all them snide bastards taking the piss when we went down. Still getting 10k more than them in the third division. Nothing club. Never have been, never will be.

They were right to take the piss. Sunderland going into Third Division is occasion when every football fan is entitled to have a go. That you draw attention to attendances just highlights the clusterfuck of your relegation

Ah Benjaminge, So now we have a Maggot on a SUNDERLAND FORUM, commenting on a thread about the smog monsters. Honestly you couldn't make it up.

The only 'taking the piss' as I remember was brought on by your supporters delusions.
Our nothing club has won more than your club in recent times - and played in Europe (getting to a final), and spent less seasons in the basement leagues.

Whats that got to do with anything?
A lot (the majority) of people on here have this weird obsession that opposing teams fans 'disappear' when their team loses a few matches - it's really quite childlike.
You cannot make a comparison between the clubs historically and presently

Delusion again i'm afraid.
Similar to us, you've done just about nothing for absolutely years i'm afraid.
Taking out the stuff about bigger stadium and bigger attendances - how are you 'poles apart' presently?
Or do you mean the fact that Sunderland are just a third tier club nowadays??

Never been keen on Boro but Chairman Steve Gibson can't be faulted. Always been there to bring in top notch players over the years.

I don’t mind boro, I live near enough and I’m surrounded by boro fans. Yes they aren’t as passionate about the club as Sunderland fans are but they are a well run club with good infrastructure. They produced some cracking players over the years too.

So apart from bigger crowds and a bigger stadium Middlesbrough are no different to their local rivals Hartlepool and Darlington then.

Strange one really as I am totally indifferent to them. Very few of them in Darlington considering the proximity but they seem to hate us which is surprising as I probs say the town is 60% mags 20% Darlington 10% plastic and 5% each for us and Boro
Bizarrely also in the shithole of all shitholes Stockton they seem to be outnumbered by the mags

Well, taking away any 'football snobbery' and sense of entitlement, then yes , we're all just local teams with supporters that want to see us do well.
Boro have no right whatsoever to 'lord it' over the likes of Darlo and Hartlepool - but neither do Sunderland. And, really, trying to belittle Boro by making out that we're on a similar level to our unfortunate neighbours is a tad silly imo - seeing as your team play in a league closer to both of them.

There are a few clubs in this country that are always competing at the top , then there are those that are 'there' but do nowt (in the main) - i'd class both Sunderland , Boro and a whole lot more in that category.
You may have been regarded as a 'big club' many moons ago when there was no competition, but come on, you've done absolutely nothing of note for near on fifty years.
A slightly bigger stadium and larger attendances (from a larger and more populated area) doesn't make you special i'm afraid.
Going by that logic - when we moved into the Riverside, and you were still at Roker Park - were we then the 'bigger' club?
Bizarrely also in the shithole of all shitholes Stockton they seem to be outnumbered by the mags
Actually that's not in any way true.
Also, that's rich - Stockton is by no means perfect , but neither is Darlington by any stretch of the imagination.

The mere fact that you are on here instead of your own forum says it all really. You are interested in us, none of us give a shit about Middlesbrough and wouldn't waste our time going on their forum because we are not interested enough to care.

You see, that's weird.
This belief that it's all about attendances.
Obviously you get higher gates than us, but it is a much larger area for starters , and i'd argue the use of the word 'support'.
You lot accuse Boro fans of being fickle, yet we having nothing on your lot - the vast majority of you wanted (demanded) that your manager be sacked after about a fortnight (out of his depth, not a big enough name for Sunderland, plays shite football etc), yet now he's some sort of folk hero.
Also, do you really think that the qualification of being a 'something' club is based on attendances? It's yet another obsession , and yes- delusion.

Are you the message board police?
Cos you don't go on a Middlesbrough board, then I shouldn't come on here? - especially on a Sunday morning? (even though it's actually afternoon).
I've not said our club is 'better' than yours - but I also wouldn't say your club is better than ours on the basis of you getting higher gates.
Larger area?
We’ve got a club that regularly pull in more than us ten miles up the road and you lot 30 miles away. You’ve got us 30 miles away and Leeds 60 miles away. I’m discounting the two pub teams in the NE btw. The mags also have no one north of them for 90 miles, 60 of which are in England.
You should be pulling in more than us even in the same division such is you’re “manor”.

Ok mate.
You obviously know i'm right then.

No.
I'm talking about people from the LOCAL area, supporting their LOCAL team.
People from the likes of Scarborough or Thirsk or York etc are not going to have an infinity with the Middlesbrough area , so cant really be counted as our 'manor'.
Middlesbrough 😂
No comeback - so roll in with the snobbery and delusion.

You wanna see the farmer types heading into Newcastle along the A1 and A69 on Saturday mornings then. All the way from Carlisle and Berwick the turncoat twats.
