These two t20s we’ve witnessed, if those had been on free to view, would have got some interested Shirley?

They have been two exciting games which begs the question why do we need this new format when T20 has some great games?

Answer: The ECB got pissed off that they invented T20 and when it went global we fell way behind thanks to the IPL and BBL. In desperation they teamed up with a guy called Stanford who turned out to be a crook.

There are many reasons why T20 is more popular elsewhere. Cricket is a religion in India. We have to compete with Premier League football. Going for TV money rather than TV publicity (Sky rather than BBC) etc.

I could think of ways to make T20 big here but then I'm not being paid £700,000 a year to do so like Tom Harrison. That's his job. However he copped out in my opinion and invented a new format which appears to be as popular as a bag of peanuts in the allergy wing of a hospital.

Megalomaniacs at the top are destroying cricket. I hope the man ( or woman) who replaces Graves gives the game back to the supporters. Somehow I doubt it.

Guess it’s down to personal preference some people may like to watch The Hundred’ on a nice summer night where others may want to watch Durham, while others like I did as a child will get just as much if not more enjoyment watching their local club team playing a cup game.

When I was a kid club cricket is this area was brilliant and in the summer watched some brilliant cricket games, my local club in the 80s had a hell of a cup side and nowt better than watching them on a summers night.

Local cricket clubs definitely need support as well.

Said it before, there was a time when a city based franchise could've worked in England but that time was 9 or 10 years ago. The window of opportunity to do it where it would have minimum affect on the county game and wouldn't hold much ill will from fans has gone.

Is this from the cricketer magazine? My issue came today and he is quoted saying durham members can watch the women’s 100 at south north or possibly the men’s at CLS in five years time
It's George Dobell in espn

Sounds like a f***ing Tory. Lying, dangerous, vile cünt.

Oh, note too that he’s laid the BBC wanted 100 balls bullshit to rest. That is, if he isn’t lying again.

“We want to reconnect the North East’s mining communities.”

So why the fuck have you cut the North East completely out of the deal? Wanker.

He says the BBC refused county cricket though.

At the risk of re-joining an argument where none of us budge I agreed with almost everything he said. I think you’ll see more kids picking up bats and balls by 2024 too. Fingers crossed.

Did he actually give a reason why? You do know he's just saying that. Could easily go to ITV, Channel 4, Five or Amazon.

Which is the most important thing above everything else imo, soo very much hope you right.

Sorry, wasn’t sure I’d read it right so needed to enlarge it and bolden it.

Wow.
The working class comment is f***ing incredible. If he really cared about 'The working class connection' then he wouldn't of taken test matches away from an area like County Durham.

Is it any wonder we want to see The Hundred fail with a cockroach like him incharge.

Cricket does need to connect with working class communities more to get more youngsters playing the game rather than them sitting on their arses playing on playstations etc.

Not sure how anyone could disagree with that in anyway.
In fact the more you read the article the more what he says makes sense.

If he is telling the truth or just giving a positive spin to gain more positive publicity I have no idea but surely it’s had to disagree with the actual words said in the article

That 1st sentence is stating the obvious but it's how you go about achieving it that's important. Preaching in the Cricketer certainly won't reach that audience nor will staging games 70miles away from those"former put villages " attract them to attend.
Aussies have just announced a pre-tour camp commencing 2nd August to join Pakistan, England, S. Africa and West Indies with tour commitments join Indians who already barred from the tournament.t
Just as well ECB have a superb marketing department but, oh, hang on, did someone say something about a website continually crashing..
