Tool

She's done that one too...

Which note? I just listened to the studio version of it but couldn't hear anything particularly high for a woman's range.
Start it from 8:10 and it builds up from there upto around 9:28. The guitarists face around 9:31 is the look of someone who knows she nailed it big time. Floor Jansen is a great singer. Very powerful, huge range can sing classical, Rock and Pop. She is classically trained and is also a vocal coach too.

Did you see my edit? :)

I went to see them in Berlin few weeks ago and it was of one of the best live music experiences I’ve had.

Can’t wait for new album and hopefully it’s not long till they back over here but not building hopes up.

No, but anyone who knows metal should know Tool. They're not an obscure band, mate.
I'm sure you're right, they've won Grammys and all sorts. But I had never heard of them and neither had anyone I knew at Download. We are all into rock and metal and in our mid/late 20s. This was my seventh Download. Looks like they were a lot bigger in the 1990s, back when they released albums regularly, but I'm not old enough to remember!

Exactly. Maynard James Keenan is considered to be one of the greats in terms of heavy rock and metal vocalists. At the same time, I don't think he can hit the notes of the really heavy earlier Tool work. As a rich 50-odd year old whose main passion these days seems to be winemaking, it would probably be out of place to focus on the angry early stuff, anyway. Maybe that's why they don't sound so 'metal' anymore?

I do think that the next album will sound a lot like an A Perfect Circle record, but I'm ok with that!

It didn't seem like metal at all to me, like. Prog, sure, but it was almost entirely instrumental so that can't be metal. Judging by the screen effects (trippy light effects), their set was aimed at people who'd be dropping a few pills! So maybe Glasto or Benicassim?

Just listened to the track you featured and I will grant that is metal! I only saw the last 30 minutes of their set.
I think they're out on their own as far as genre
I skated thru a youtube best of download 2019 looking for them and found the stuff on their very hard going if not amusing

Just have. The studio version was originally performed by the original singer Tarja Turunen, she had an operatic voice too but I think Floor just took it to another level.
Tarja was better, and the first album is best imo. Saw them quite a few times in the early 00's, caught one of Emmpu's picks at Bradford Rios too - still have it.
