Speed limiters in all new cars

The amount of pricks who are speeding well over the limit is getting beyond a joke. And I'm not talking about motorways.

I was thinking this also, not only is the car industry going through a shit patch with sales, diesel slump, electric cars too pricy, range limited etc etc. Lump this in, I'd think people will just hold on to their current car, than upgrade into dullness. Might have a flash badge on it (BMW through to Ferrari), but it's no good if you can only go as fast the Citroen C2 in front of you.

There is a road near where I live which I walk up and down at least 20 times a week. 30 limit.

The majority who go past are doing well over 30. The scary thing is that I've seen plenty doing 40 to 50 (I would say at least 50%), and some tosser was doing 60 the other day.

It goes right past a childs playpark.

In fact I'm shocked if I see anyone going past it doing the speed limit.

Needs some traffic calming measures.

Islands, zebra crossing, traffic lights, chicanes etc.

The council put those stupid speeds bumps in that your wheels go either side of. It's amazing some people don't give a shit at all.

Yes, your car will interact with the speed limiters, so they'll pretty much know where you are at all times you or other is driving the car. I'm of the couldn't give a fuck on that, i don't do owt wrong and lead a boring existence, but we all baulked at the ID card scheme. They are just getting round this by using other methods.
 
I would expect any car without this, to find their insurance cost to go up in future. So it could cost more to insure old bangers etc
