They didn't want to do a women's version, they did a version that encompasses everybody who plays the game. If you want to do a men's version that's fine too. Why don't you?If you want to do a women's version its fine.
So you only want to watch Real Madrid then? Or Germany in internationals of course.Well maybe, I really don'tthink I am being sexist, maybe I am I dunno, but I am only interested in people who are the best at the game in the world, men or female, its the same game, same rules.
And there we go. It never takes long for the true colours to show does it?Doesn’t make it anymore entertaining just be cause they have tits and a fanny.
I'd say it needs new players more, and I'm not convinced the kind of new fans who might be attracted will bother to play as a result.
I'm not really comparing it to men's, or to anything else really. But what do you mean exactly? What standard do you think england men's team was this winter? Should they ever be televised again?I've watched women's cricket, if you are comparing it to mens, the standard is below awful.
Depends what you take it as.
99.9% of men wouldn't qualify either. But anyway, this means one of your two criteria for being a decent cricketer of a high standard is pace. You definitely don't like spinners. When a woman can bowl 90mph, or score 1,000 FC runs then they'll deserve to be in Wisden.
I think they are mind.
Looks like you do have an issue with it if you think it's not "proper" cricket, whatever that is.
Have you been hit on the head by a beamer recently or something?
Because nobody outside the very limited scope of those games care, while they do care about primary national and international matches.
Are you genuinely saying they should have televised a second xi cricket match over an england world cup tournament match? Would you even watch it?
I can tell you exactly why. It's firstly because the coverage of the women's game is of the top level, either internationally or the national league system, and so it matters more than the 7th level of the men's game.
Over and above that of course is that it's entertaining and people do enjoy watching it.
Do you still think if the been had the option of a second xi or Durham League match, or an england women's international, that they should choose the former because it would be a higher standard? Do you really believe that, because it's just bonkers?
Dubious, if they showed Northants v Derbyshire nobody outside derby or Northampton would watch more than a few overs. And the rest would soon die of boredom.
Is it 1925 still?
Well, at least I've been to the national village final at lords, have you?Read the post again. I have no issue with women playing cricket.
I reserve my right however to call it absolutely horrific as a sporting spectacle. And in my opinion, it isn't proper cricket, no.
Yes, I would watch it actually.
I'd wager that more people would watch league cricket, than the women's game. If the National Village Cup was televised, live, you didn't get more people watching it than an England women's game.
Is it entertaining? Really?
So you believe women's cricket is a better standard than Second XI men? Because I don't think England Women would beat any NEPL side.
As for the second post, you missed the part where I talked about listening figures aswell as viewing figures. But still, I would wager yes, that more people will tune in on the various media platforms to watch a County Championship game over a women's international. If you can find the figures for County games up against the last women's international they had on, I'll bet there was more interest in the county cricket.
Do you know these people? They make Jacob Rees mogg look progressive.Amazed yer wasting yer time on some of these like
Nonsense.
Well, at least I've been to the national village final at lords, have you?
Seriously though, you're really showing yourself up. Most of your opinions just seem to be made up to wind normal cricket fans up. What's actually "horrific" about anybody playing sport? It's just imbecilic. I wonder what you looked like, if you ever played.
I knew the cricket board had gone to the dogs in the last few years, but do you really need to behave like the most uneducated, ignorant knuckle dragger of the lot? Perhaps it's best you sit on your own watching second xi matches, while the rest of us enjoy watching England pull off a thrilling late victory in the World cup final.
Do you know these people? They make Jacob Rees mogg look progressive.
No it wasn't. It was the same few thousand on 100 different days over a whole season. Or else provide proper figures. If you really think millions are listening to this you're a bit of a dafty. It isn't nonsense, its fact. Martin Emmerson tweeted the figures at one point last year and the number of listeners to BBC county cricket commentaries was in the millions.
What has happened to @brandon safc ? He seems to have gone right off the deep end.All voted Brexit. I’ll guarantee it. Jardine definitely. He probably campaigned to remove EU legislation that makes it illegal to chain women to the sink![]()
Well, at least I've been to the national village final at lords, have you?
No, but it doesn't really matter, if it was on the telly I'd definitely watch it - which was kind of my point.

I do play, I enjoy playing, but I wouldn't expect my games to be televised because it wouldn't get viewing figures which warrant television coverage. That's what I'm getting at. However, I face bowling that is quicker than any woman can bowl and so I'm confident I could walk into the England women's team if I fancied a gender change.

Ahhhh there it is, the old nuckle dragger comment - I was quite surprised actually that it's taken so long, but there it is. So I'm a knuckle dragger because I acknowledge the fact women's cricket is a dog shit standard am I? Do you want to call me sexist too? Because I don't want to watch women's cricket?
The standard is shit, the batters are weak and the 'fast' bowling is slower than you'll see at any County U15 game. So it isn't for me thanks, if you want to watch it and fawn over it, crack on, but why ridicule those of us who can see it for what it really is??
I reiterate, I've no issue whatsoever with women playing cricket, what I don't like, which I've repeated about a hundred times, is the embarassing promotion of it by the MSM, overexaggerating and overhyping its quality and its draw. It's doing nobody any good to patronise it in the long run.
Is that the only reason?I wouldn't expect my games to be televised because it wouldn't get viewing figures which warrant television coverage.

Jimmy Anderson can do neither

Probably irrelevant to this thread or maybe not.
Stat Attack - Part Two
Now I humbly suggest this is worth noting:
The listening figures for the online BBC cricket broadcasts in 2017 were as follows:
County Championship 1.6 million
NatWest Blast: 560,000
Royal London One-Day Cup 440,000
Yes, there were more days' cricket, but all the same
And the BBC's live text page-views for Championship matches went up from 17.8 million to 24.1 million.
Curious, really, for a format and a competition nobody cares about.
Have a great season everyone. See you tomorrow.
That was from espncricinfo, The County blog. And of course it quotes BBC figures so the numbers for web page view are surely underplayed, I never go to the Beeb for this, always cricinfo which I think is better.
If it's not proper cricket!!!
What is it then?
Cricket is cricket whether played by 8 year old boys or 57 year old women, be it test match cricket or T20 cricket or schoolboy cricket.
This not 'proper cricket' crack just shows either snobbery or old fashonied nonsense probably both!
Here you go, @Bri provided the figures.
1.6 million listened to County Championship coverage.
24.1 million viewed the BBC live text pages.
I'd doubt women's cricket pages get over a million, even since they've started disguising women's stories in order to get more hits.
Mind you'll probably try and tell me that the same bloke in his piss soaked y-fronts was responsible for 80% of those hits by simply hitting refresh time and time again throughout the summer.
Women's cricket.
If you want to know what proper cricket is, go on Twitter, it's got its own hashtag.
I know what proper cricket is played all my life, a lot of them 20 over club cricket played by great blokes and great teams.
I can ensure you that is and was proper cricket!!
Even taking into your previous arguments on this subject, can fathom any reason why women's test cricket played in whites over a longer format cant be 'proper cricket' in your world!
How is it not?
Before you always said proper cricket was that played over a longer format while played in whites now when it's played by women you all of a sudden dismiss that concept when it suits!
