i guess it's why i have a hard time relating to your argument and if you're not that fussed about durham ccc then no wonder you're not really fussed about a new competition that might well end up destroying our county side and the others on the outside.

if i lived in cls i'd probably get to the t20 matches but driving from sunderland so i can't have a drink or the chew on of public transport makes it not worth it all IMO

i don't begrudge attacking cricket but find the ipl too much, batsmen throwing the kitchen sink at everything and the best bowlers in the world going for 75 off 4 and lauding match winning contributions of 10 or 12 runs off 3 balls just doesn't sit right :lol:

Yesterday game was a low scoring close game where the team batting second were nine wickets down and won in the last over,it was really interesting game.

Some of skills on show from the bowlers especially the spinners is very good.

The only thing I don’t like about T20 is the equipment is too good nowadays that sometimes a mis hit still goes for 6 that bit does not sit right for me.

When a woman can bowl 90mph, or score 1,000 FC runs then they'll deserve to be in Wisden.

The listening figures for the online BBC cricket broadcasts in 2017 were as follows:
County Championship 1.6 million
NatWest Blast: 560,000
Royal London One-Day Cup 440,000
Yes, there were more days' cricket, but all the same
And the BBC's live text page-views for Championship matches went up from 17.8 million to 24.1 million.

Curious, really, for a format and a competition nobody cares about.

That was from espncricinfo, The County blog. And of course it quotes BBC figures so the numbers for web page view are surely underplayed, I never go to the Beeb for this, always cricinfo which I think is better.

Well it’s rammed down our throats in the summer prior to the men’s games usually so obviously see bits and pieces and it’s pretty poor really. Might as well show some local club cricket as it’s about that standard. Doesn’t make it anymore entertaining just be cause they have tits and a fanny.

Because nobody outside the very limited scope of those games care, while they do care about primary national and international matches.

Are you genuinely saying they should have televised a second xi cricket match over an england world cup tournament match? Would you even watch it?

I can tell you exactly why. It's firstly because the coverage of the women's game is of the top level, either internationally or the national league system, and so it matters more than the 7th level of the men's game.

Over and above that of course is that it's entertaining and people do enjoy watching it.

Do you still think if the been had the option of a second xi or Durham League match, or an england women's international, that they should choose the former because it would be a higher standard? Do you really believe that, because it's just bonkers?

Dubious, if they showed Northants v Derbyshire nobody outside derby or Northampton would watch more than a few overs. And the rest would soon die of boredom.

I've watched women's cricket, if you are comparing it to mens, the standard is below awful.

Depends what you take it as.
