Why? Net receipts up.To increase the revenue for HMG to not spend on the NHS? Doesnt seem the best logic
I feel overwhelmingly saddened that the NHS is struggling with funding and essentially has to ration its services, yet I think the argument that people have to take their own responsibility for these sorts of things is very well grounded. For smokers today, the risks are very well known, very well proven and very well clear.
Yes and is it likely that increase revenue will be allocated to the NHS to treat related conditions? Why? Net receipts up.
Doesn't matter does it.Yes and is it likely that increase revenue will be allocated to the NHS to treat related conditions?
If they wont allocate the existing surplus its highly unlikely they will do any different with any increase
Eh?Doesn't matter does it.
Put duty on tabs up, country gets richer
Put duty on tabs up, country gets richer
With loads of people with cancer. Bloody great ideaThe duty goes up every year!
2/3's of the cost of a packet is tax.
Stop discouraging people from smoking and the country would definitely be richer.

Why should smokers be charged with making the country richer?Put duty on tabs up, country gets richer
But the system set up to treat the after effects doesnt get the necessary funding for it. Like i said before your logic is somewhat skewed.Put duty on tabs up, country gets richer
It was completely lost on himIt was a tongue in cheek comment.
IMO....... It might be because they're right at the top of the list with care needed for them, caused by smoking.... IMO........ *Why should smokers be charged with making the country richer?
But they already contribute more than enough Steve.IMO....... It might be because they're right at the top of the list with care needed for them, caused by smoking.... IMO........
*This is an opinion, not a fact.
I bet that smoking related diseases are way up there in the NHS resources though. But they already contribute more than enough Steve.
