NHS provokes fury with indefinite surgery ban for smokers and obese

So basically, they won't get help unless they attempt to help themselves first. Seems reasonable to me.
Yep. But you'll only get people saying "well I pay ni contributions, so fuck off"

That's the point of a message board. Don't just post a link FFS.
Post something from the story and what you think about it.
I don't have to post my opinion on the link though, Mr north Korea

The government should make smoking illegal (and ban the sale of them) in that case. Otherwise smokers should be exempt from contributing towards the NHS.
You'll get smokers coming on saying "do you know how much tax they make?"

Even though the majority of them get them cheaper abroad

I'm not allowed the operation that would fix a problem I have. I'm not a smoker, a drinker or obese. They'll only do the op if I had cancer (which I haven't and I'm thankful about!) Several treatments I've already had have failed so now I've been told I just have to put up with it or go private which I can't afford (approx £8-10K).
