Why were people leaving after 75 mins on Saturday?

Nobody on the thread has agreed that people left early they are simply offering generic reasons why any fair minded soul might wish to depart early. @Deggsy sits two rows behind me and i can indeed confirm he was there until the bitter end, this fact basically proves that virtually nobody left early.

Just an observation but you don't appear to be very good at this buddy.

Then there wouldn't be a discussion? And there have been people agreeing so open your eyes pal. And for the record, I couldn't give a fuck wee sits next to you

People are criticising people for leaving!

You should be praising fans for turning up
Those can be separate though.

Anyone attending deserves credit, but I can't get my head around that many people leaving early. Especially when the game is close in a relegation battle with the players needing support. Turning up doesn't equal support and imo it's poor how easy the fans give up. I'm sure there'll be comments along the lines of "Wey the players give up n that", but that shouldn't matter in terms of support and last weekend they didn't.

Well why bother going in the first place? We had a chance to get our first win at home for months with 15 mins left (a long time in football) and people are leaving in their masses. We're the only club that has a reputation for it. Leaving at 3-0 etc. is fair enough but when was the last time we were 0-0 at 75 mins and looking the most likely to score?
Why are you bothered. If you want to stay and see that chance for a goal then that's up to you. I'm guessing they thought it was shit and a waste of time staying or had other things they wanted to do.

Don't get why people bring this up all the time. If it's entertaining more people will go to the match and stay till the end. If it's crap they won't.

This ones bringing it up because it's clearly yet another cretinous mag that's just crawled from beneath it's rock.....The board is riddled with these fucktards these days mate.

Cos a lot of people left IMO

If you're not bothered whether we score or not to win a match then you aren't a Sunderland supporter
Lots there won't be Sunderland supporters. They'll be there for a day out with their mates and a few pints.

I don't know why they bother going tbh

Hardly anyone left early.
Tbf it was better than other weeks,

We created chances and the second half was A LOT better than the first. Genuine question

I get that people who pay for a seat can do what they want BUT the team is in a relegation battle, they had a couple of great chances in the second half, and with the crowd behind them they may have been able to up the intensity and get a valuable win. Then the players look up and see loads of empty seats. Can't help but deflate a team that needs to find focus and motivation.

They're professionals mate, or supposed to be, if empty seats bothers them then I suggest they up their game and start doing their job then maybe folks won't leave early, presumably bored by the football. By the way every teams supporters leave early when things don't go their way. Look at the filth up the road who are top of the league and yet had a half empty stadium by the final whistle in the Fulham game.:lol:

You're right - at least that's how it seems from the streams (I can't attend games very often.)

But, I have a novel solution to combat this phenomenon. We could call it 'Captain's Time' (as opposed to Fergie Time :) )

Every season, on, say, two occasions per season, each team captain can, at the end of 90 mins, opt for an additional 10 minutes to be added onto the game. No changing ends and stuff - just play on for ten minutes.

If this were to be allowed, nobody would leave 10 minutes early, because they'd never know* if the captain of one of the teams would call the option for ten minutes extra.

Of course, if the Captain calls the ten minutes, the early leavers could then leave, smirking and satisfied that they stopped for 90 min and still left 10 early.

If not, then they'd be leaving with the full 90-minute stayers, swearing and shoutin' and cursing Ellis, Moyesie, Cattermole, Fabio, Rodwell and whoever - but they do that anyway, probably, so it wouldn't make much difference.

Now, all we need to do is persuade the FA this is a good idea, and we've solved the problem. :)

* course, if both captains had already used their allocation of two options each, then it would not longer be possible - but this would only happen towards the end of the season, chances are
Probably with that is we're normally down by at least a 2 goal deficit so 10 more minutes will only serve to prolong the agony :)
Also
-Unbalanced captain time selection, some teams may have to endure 5/6 times or more whilst others just 2
-Would captain time be instead or as well as injury time
- May clash with late kick-off game meaning little to no pre-match build up for late kick off or no post-match reaction from captaib time game
-Advantage of knowing other teams scores before result of captain time game..may lead to time-wasting/cheating

Is anybody else totally sick to their back teeth of this whole fans leaving early argument? Both at HT and FT

We get brilliant crowds despite being shite, I would never complain at someone for leaving early.

I doubt another club in the whole of England moans about other fellow supporters as much as we do.

If you want to leave early, leave early. If you prefer to stay until the final whistle do it. But please for the love of all things sacred shut the fuck up about the whole situation
