Pickford's future

We're losing money financially and he's one of our biggest assets.

I say hold out until the end of the season then if a club comes in the summer, play hard-ball.

Hope we keep him for years yet. It can only help his career here. How many promising young English players move to one of the big boys and go backwards?
If we get £30 million we will only spend it 3 shit players anyway

No doubt he's going to the top. And lets be honest it's very unlikely that will be with us. Enjoy the lad while he's here and wish him the best when he gets a big move.

Instead of people discussing when he is likely to leave and for how much It would be refreshing to hear supporters discuss how the club could keep him long term and start building a team around him.

You never know, he might actually be happy to stay and if all he ever reads is stuff about how and when he will leave that might actually undermine his desire to stay.

Until we start being able to keep hold of our best young players we will be doomed to mediocrity.

Any club with a talent like Pickford on their hands has the choice of either trying to keep him and trying to drag the club upto a level where his ambitions can be achieved by staying at the club or just cashing in and resigning the club to future struggle.
Well said totally agree, he is one of us after all.

Because he wanted to leave and stated it publicly. If he didn't want to leave then Man Utd would not have sold him.

Not really. biggest club in the world offers world record money for another club's best player. club sell because money on offer too good to turn down seeing as player wants to leave

But he wanted to leave. And the offer was good and Man Utd needed to sell.
If he wanted to stay, Man Utd wanted to keep him and Real didn't wanted to sign him then he'd have stayed.

If he does leave then the academy will once again have funded itself for another few years  You just know that if Pickford wasn't playing football he would of been stood in the south stand on Saturday not stood in the goal in front of it. A player we can all be proud off!

I think he'll be gone in summer. He's going to play a lot of champs league football in his career which we can't offer him. Hopefully we get a good price and invest wisely.

If a big offer comes in it won't matter if he wants to stay - the club will sell him.
16-17 million gto Arsenal i heard today off some bloke at Wetherby Services, (after coming back from the Cash and Carry in Darlo). Also, Smoggie Syd, (Drayman from Geralds) heard this also from one of the reps at his depot.

Pickers is English, which immediately makes him more valuable, and he's no Ben Alnwick. He's going to be a big star and could be a top keeper for a decade.

If we sell him, we need to be looking at 30m plus, or a fee in the high teens with add-ons that will reach 30 plus after appearances and international caps.

The problem is we're skint, so we may accept less because we need the cash.

By the way, Michael Woud looks another good keeper.
