Taking that a step further, how about a great big fuck off pipe from the crater to the hole dug under the volcano and as it overflows it fills in underneath, and will rise up over the top again in a vicious circle? Pop some cladding round the pipe to use the heat to grow electricity, the whole world is a better place as there is perpetually growing electricity.
