Sadly, that's true. Sunderland is an example of 40 years of bad policies and neglect. It can be made great again with more effort than was put in to destroy it. To start with, it must be put back on the main railway line.

How do we move a whole city 12 miles to the west? Sunderland was never on the "main railway line" but it did have rail links to Durham and places inbetween.

6.45 from Sunderland isn't there? There is an earlier Virgin train as well that goes via the Newcastle loop. The 0540, get's you into the smoke for 9ish.

the 4:45 and 5:25 from newcastle are the only ones that get you into london before 9, and the earliest gets in at 8:12. i wish there was an earlier one that got in at like 7:30.

There's the 0704 that takes 2hrs36 thats about the fastest there is.

Fair enough. But a reversal of Breching would be a start to solve the rail problem.
