Too soon for Henderson to come back?

That’s very poor. Last season would have looked very different with someone like JH around.
 
People just assuming he'd be great in the Championship because of who he is, what he achieved once upon a time and because some of our older signings worked out well ignoring the million that didn't.

If he was signed to play as the deepest midfielder it'd be pointless, he can't play that role now. Would need someone behind him.

Local lad, who’s won the lot club wise, approaches the club he supports, desperate to come back and play for them to help them progress. Doesn’t care about the financial package and we just couldn’t be arsed to get back to him. 🤷‍♂️ KS should be grovelling back to JH, but won’t, as he’s known to be rather arrogant.

He should be and it should be a massive worry if he is not.

Of course Jordan has made a mistake with the Saudi carry on but he is one of our own and if he wants to come back the club has to make it happen.

JH doesn’t want out to do with KS, so it will be a big job for KS to change the mood.

At this point in his career if he's staying in England it's the championship and probably £20k per week max.
I don't think we'll pay that but the money he's got if we offer £10k-£15k on a 2 year contract with options to look at coaching positions after that he may go for that.
He's only got max 2 years playing career left, he needs to decide where to go with it. If its more money he wants , then he goes abroad playing at a shit standard, he tried that and didn't like it.

He missed games at Ajax due to injury and he’s lost half a yard of pace.

Do you see KLD paying £15k a week to a 34 year old who’s played ( poorly) at a shit level for 5 months and who picked an injury? No one knows if he’ll be any good as a coach.

Not exactly what ‘ the model’ is about, is it?

If it had been 12 month or so ago when there were first murmurings about him coming back it'd have been a no-brainer but his apparent poor form in 2 pretty dreadful leagues last season is a big concern.

Would be delighted to be proven wrong if he does come back but it has Leadbitter/Defoe vibes all over it IMO.

I used to work with Hendo’s uncle when I was a lot younger, his initials are the same as Speakmans, was curious if that was your source. Obviously it isn’t.

Only other person I know who’s good mates with him or at least was is a lad who came through the youth team with him. Initials SR, he also told us well in advance he’d agreed to go to the Scousers, if it’s not him either then I’ve no idea who your source is 😂

He did it with Bradley Dack? I know that didn't work out but Henderson has the passion for us and would help massively off the pitch for our young squad. Possibly a future manager
