The Pep myth

A better record than Ferguson whose record is seemingly beyond criticism in Britain.

Guardiola joined a club already winning leagues with all the cash in the world and hasn’t been able to give them the European Cup.

Ferguson joined a club miles behind Liverpool, built the whole club up win them everything in a 20 year dynasty producing 2 European Cups.
He also nurtured through young talent who were better than anything Man City bought.

Absolutely great manager is Pep, but he’ll never do what Fergie did.
Should have spent the £100mill on Kane, Halland or Lewandowski instead of Grealish. Grealish is an excellent player but they already had 3 or 4 excellent players who can play the same role. They've not got a proper center forward.

Grealish is not a top drawer, elite player and it was an unnecessary signing imo.
I may be proved wrong in time.

Transformed Liverpool, spending a lot less than City.

Has now got Liverpool to 3 Champions League finals, and has them in two other domestic cup finals all while challenging for the title. At Dortmund he had to compete with the powerhouse of Bayern and came out on top.

I think Pep is a great coach, but Klopp is better.

I fully agree.
Klopp seems to also somehow create this mentality around not just the club but further afield of total togetherness / unity etc around him.
I think Klopp has the potential to do a 20 year shift at Liverpool winning everything continuously.
Are you forgetting Ancelotti who just knocked out the aforementioned Guardiola, as the underdog, and has won all 5 of the top 5 European leagues, with 3 champions leagues across two teams, into the final for a possible 4th?
Or is he just dismissed as not being on Pep/Klopp level.

Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti are comfortably too 3 in world. In what order is up for debate.

Dominated Madrid for most of tie, but didn't out them away when they had the chance in first leg.

For what it's worth, in my opinion, Liverpool have a much better first XI and are the best team in the world. Only reason why City have a shot at the league is because they are better tactically in the dugout.

You need some luck to win the Champions League. He's often done weird things tactically, but not this year: just didn't fall for them. In contrast, you look at Liverpool's knockout draw and well.

Yes, whoever prioritised Grealish over Kane last season wants shooting to shit. But if they get Haaland, to add to the young talented striker they've already signed from Argentina, they'll be a totally different prospect imo and the trophy may come.

He lost a game mate, therefore he's shit.

He also lost the champions league final so that’s two games.

His game management is shocking. Week in week out he rarely makes a sub but when it’s on top or a big game he fucks about with the team.
I get the superb statistic of his silverware but it’s been money no object in that period.
You expect any top manager with them resources not only to have a similar record but to totally dominate everything.
There are no outstanding tactics employed by him.
City are a fantastic team.
I watched city Liverpool and thought we are a million miles away from this however pep has questions over him without a doubt.

That's a little silly.

Not worth 50 never mind 100 million was a crazy purchase. Any of their other attacking midfield players is miles better than him. They should of stumped up the extra 20 million for Kane.

Correct
He was outclassed tactically by Tuchel in last years final and just didn’t seem to know how to manage the game last night
