An unchanged League One team will barely get two wins together. That is how different League One is compared to the Championship.

It very much depends on how you get promoted. If you play your way out of L1 then you have more likelihood of succeeding in the Championship. We certainly played more football than Wigan or Rotherham.

We also beat Blackpool and QPR last season by playing actual football.

We are not going to win the league but we will be fine.

Perhaps, I’d certainly like one commanding and physical CM but Evans, O’Nien, Neil and Matete isn’t the worst selection to choose from if they are essentially there to protect the back four and give Roberts, Clarke and Pritchard freedom to create.

We didn’t beat QPR by playing actual football. We beat them on penalties having not broken them down.

Huggins is also a LB from his time at Leeds I think so could be the one to cover Cirkin, which means we may target a RB instead of a LB.

Nathan Byrne free to leave Derby for nothing. Been solid at this level previously.
 
The deficiencies in our squad are pretty glaring. We need 1 x goalkeeper, right back, centre back and 2 x strikers. Of course, all I read about is prospective new wingers!

We’ve got at least five players in the squad who can competently play right back. It’s absolutely not a priority, shirley left back is more pressing seeing as we only have Cirkin who can play on that side and is left footed.

Why does everyone mention right back and ignore left back, we literally have one left footed defender in the squad.

Some will mention Huggins as an option but we can’t expect him to suddenly be fully fit and I think he’s probably more suited to playing rb anyway.

I honestly think we will do well to stay out of thd bottom six unless a couple of quality signings are made.

Yes, I was banking on Huggins (who appears to be near to fit right now). I'm quite happy to stand corrected on his best position, in which case add another left back.

Obviously you want more. For that to happen, three or four would have to move on surely.
 
There is a lot of speculation based on nothing but natural tendency to optimism or pessimism. A lot of football is about cnfidence and organisation. There is talent in squad and we could have decent season if get off to decent start. The most important person at a football club is the manager. Going on what we have seen so far, that is big thing going for us.
We have struggled with talented squads and done well with more limited ones (under McCarthy and Keane). Enjoy the summer and relax. Need strikers and some defenders but we have done good and efficient business so far. Why should that change?

O'9 will be 4th choice CB & cover for LB imo
