Cheers. No series link is a bit of a pisser. It needs to be as wife proof as possible for me to get one.

Google crossepg. I use it on my ET9000 and it does series link up to a point. You can set it to repeat record daily, weekly, monthly etc but once the series is finished it will still record whatever programme replaces the one you've been recording. This is because it works on the time of the recording as opposed to how Sky boxes work.

I run ViX on my box and there's various plugins you can get such as 1channel & IceFilms which let you stream movies and TV series. The best plugin though is OnDemand which has BBC iPlayer, ITVPlayer, 4OD and another couple of foreign variations for RTE, ABC Australia and a German one. Its not geoblocked either.

Ah, thanks for this thread, just remembered that I need to give 30 days notice to cancel Sky. Getting towards the end of the season so might as well fuck off the HD pack, the sports pack and the films (never watch the films anyway and if you've not got sports the film package gets more expensive). Nice to see you can just email to cancel now like, saves having to phone them

The albino mountain gorilla is coming round mine on Thursday to install a dreambox. I've nee idea what the fuck it is but he says I need it.

I just cancelled my Sky subscription as I simply can't afford it

Ringing SKY now to see what is on offer, currently have the lot bar the porn and MUTV shite, with phone and fiber.

Will report back....

As usual I contacted Sky:
"Hi, I'd like to give my 31 days notice that I'm going to be cancelling the HD pack, the films and the sports please"
"No bother, that'll be it turned off this time next month"
"Erm, nice one, cheers"
"Bye"

Everyone else seems to get offered all sorts of perks to stay with them. I wasn't arsed like because even if they offered it half price for 3 months or something it wouldn't be worth it (never watch films on there tbh and never watch the pre season football) but it'd be nice to be offered it occasionally! Oh well.

seem to remember someone saying that they had a daily quota of offers available or some such.
So if you're going to cancel best to call in early or it may simply be my senility kicking in again:lol:

It's completely random whilst still in your notice period.

However once you are cancelled, I left it 3 days and rang back up went thru to the "win back" team, got 6 months full tv pack for nowt ;)

Whilst still under contract and also during my notice period I was offered sod all!

So I was without full package for 3 days and now have it free for 6 months.
