Sad but true. It looks pretty shit tbf.It was only until the council said they were going to pull it down that anybody was bothered about this building. If the new road was not going in and it needed to be demolished the place would have fell down on it's own. Should we not have saved some of the Cornings factory to remember the glass industry or kept some of the Monkwearmouth pit buildings to remember the miners - so why are we trying to save a run down building for shipbuilding that is going to cost stupid money to put right. The fire station in the town was in the right place and was worth saving, this is not in my opinion.
