Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Hopefully comes back and bangs them in.

It’ll only be a good deal for us if we reinvest wisely. And by that a players who’s going to come in and hit the ground running not a young lad who’s either injured or who is going to time to bed in. We’ve got enough of them.

We massively miss Ross like. The way we work the ball wide constantly, requires a striker who can occupy the Centre half’s and be a threat in the air and be alive in and around the box. Unfortunately we just don’t have anyone who comes close and it’s allowing our wingers to be doubled up on, especially Clarke. The deal has been proven to be right for the club but January is massive for us, we either need to change the way we play or we buy someone in the mould of Stewart or our season is fuked.
We miss the player he was when fit. Unfortunately he might never be that player again on a consistent basis.
None of the forwards we have now are anything like as good as he was at his best.

The lad was immense for us and theres no denying that. However, as time passes its becoming increasingly clear this was a particularly shrewd bit of business by the club.

Its just a shame we didnt replace him.
yesah they messed up the replacement..millions and millions spent on strikers and none capable of hitting the ground running..

The club did some good business getting the money they did for him, they would have got fuck all in January for him.

Other than Burstow, Mayenda and Hemir, arguably Rusyn too as he has played a striker previously, you're right.

Burstow played as a deep forward for Charlton and their fans said he's much better there than up front, Rusyn's best stats came playing on the wing in the Ukraine and Mayenda has played in the wing a fair bit and Mowbray has said he looks better when cutting in from out wide so no we didn't get any actual strikers in apart from a Hemir as I pointed out

I can't be arsed to go googling, they've all played as strikers.

He ir looks better playing deep as well and looked like that's where he used to play.

Yet the vast majority on here were advocating us to give him whatever he wanted to keep him and ripping the club to shreds for refusing to do so!

I'd still rather have kept him than where we've spent the money mind. Even though he's barely played he's still contributed as much as Rusyn, Mayenda and Hemir who probably cost 5m+ of what we recieved, maybe more depending on what Rusyn cost.

All of them put together couldn't make Ross Stewart - it's the gamble you take, for us in terms of spreading out recruitment and Southampton on a very good player with injury issues.

Well that's just shite.

Well that's just shite.

Why is it?

I say it with a bit of tongue in cheek as long term I don't know how any would turn out or if Stewart will ever be the same, but Ross Stewart is a quality player when fit and none of those have done anything for us yet.

Agree hence why I said the deal was right for the club, based on his injury record it’s proved to be brilliant business. Regardless he desperately needs replaced.

On another note Southampton now unbeaten in 10.
no thanks to stewart...
