While it didn't take him 18 months he did take time, he only started two league games in his first (half) season.
Good for him and nice to see him back on his feet. Just hope he stays fit, scores against every other team but never against us!Just scored![]()
Carrying an injury plus Wyke was scoring for fun. Even in his off the bench appearances it was obvious RS was a better player than Wyke. I’d have had Wyke on the bench mesel. While it didn't take him 18 months he did take time, he only started two league games in his first (half) season.
Within a month of starting his first first team game for them he’ll be first choice. If he can stay fit.I reckon there needs to be some type of punishments from the Mods to people who mention Amad's name like. It genuinely makes me emotional to think about how much much he loved it here and how much we loved him. The one that got away and it's far too soon to speak about.
To not take the thread too off topic: Stewart will be a backup striker for them and will score no more than 3 league goals this season.
He scored at Wembley less than 18 months after signing man. He's gonna have missed almost half the season, having played about 15 games in the last 2 seasons. it's gonna take him time to get up to fitness, and after being out for so long there's a good chance he won't get back up to the same level. Add to that Southampton play a different style to us, and it took him about 18 months to click with our system before he started scoring goals.
My point is, I don't think he will outscore our forwards this season. Think he will do well to hit double figures tbh.
Oh aye Stewart is definitely the better player.Carrying an injury plus Wyke was scoring for fun. Even in his off the bench appearances it was obvious RS was a better player than Wyke. I’d have had Wyke on the bench mesel.

Thankfully they don’t run the clubConfirmed as being out again until late January after suffering another setback.
A total of 17 minutes played this season and even if he was to be fit again for their last January fixture on the 27th, would have been available for 15 of his last 78 Championship fixtures.
Yet the vast majority on here were advocating us to give him whatever he wanted to keep him and ripping the club to shreds for refusing to do so!
Harsh!Saints fans calling him
Crock Ness Drogba
and , wait for it ….
