Shotton axe man
Midfield
although we were shit. I felt it was the best he’s played since Parkinson came in, the other night. First half anyway.Been off the boil recently, but fuck me massive loss.

Agree completely with this. There’s only been occasional flashes from O’Nien. Thought he was decent against Burton and think it was Oxford? Other than that he’s been poor. I’d have given him a spell on the sidelines in any case. Hopefully by the time he’s back we’re confident and flying under a new coach. He’s been quite poor this season, often prone to slowing attacks down. He showed glimpses against Doncaster in the first half of the player he has been.
I don't think he was that good last season either. He's massively over ratedHe’s been quite poor this season, often prone to slowing attacks down. He showed glimpses against Doncaster in the first half of the player he has been.
Bang on. Still one of our better players though. Says more about the squad than it does of him. Saying that, the lad has hardly played in the position we signed him in.Decent, but not spectacular.
At least he's a top professional.
They’ve all been off the boil ! However some can only ever achieve a simmerBeen off the boil recently, but fuck me massive loss.
Totally different role though - Dobson is considered as a defensive/holding midfielder. O'Nien would presumably be an attacking midfielderI’d have him ahead of Dobson
It would surely be an instant ban if I was to post what I consider Dobson to be.Totally different role though - Dobson is considered as a defensive/holding midfielder. O'Nien would presumably be an attacking midfielder

Here's a novel suggestion, give him a run of games, in his rightful position!, he deserves zero criticism having stepped up to the plate without any complaints for 2 years!
I think O'Nien is indispensable for his simple positive energy and I, too, thought he was our sparkiest player on Tuesday. His link-ups with Embleton were promising at times.although we were shit. I felt it was the best he’s played since Parkinson came in, the other night. First half anyway.
Are you really suggesting that 09 is any worse than the rest of our midfield players? We don't know what he's like in training though. He might be worse than the rest of them which is why he doesn't get any games playing there
Have you noticed, a lot of intricate one twos happen down the right between 09 and Maguire, that's why I would play 09 as a No10, with Muguire and ANO up front.I think O'Nien is indispensable for his simple positive energy and I, too, thought he was our sparkiest player on Tuesday. 3 months out with a shoulder dislocation according to one of the Echo journos.
Not that I saw.Did he give any news on Wyke's injury?
