I've been killing time before out match and we all know about the Liverpool 4-3's but I didn't know about this cracker with the 89th minute winner with Alan Pardew popping up for Charlton

. As the crowd was in the 15,000's then there must have been nearly 40,000 locked until Keegan came in a few weeks later and NUFC 1992 was born!

It just shows how shit they really were and the low crowds they got yet they like to whitewash their history prior to 1992 and they've always been a 'top half' challenging team. They so nearly went down that year but Keegan saved them and the millions got pumped in chasing success. Yet in the 15 years prior they'd only finished as high as 8th in Div 1 and just the once. The next highest position was 11th and their average position for those 15 years was 24th so 2nd place in Div 2 given there was 22 teams in the league at that time.
They were last finished top 4 in Division way back in 1950-51 so not really a Champions League team regular if that had been around back then. If you add all their positions up after that 4th in 1950 until 1992, it's an average of 18th so borderline relegation

In the 14 years of being the Premier League with Hall etc, starting with Keegan they averaged 8th position. Since Ashley came in they've averaged 14th. Strangely enough if you simply tot up all the positions they've been in that the average is just over 14th also and it was 15th prior to 1992.

) into Excel, here's a simple graph for us to laugh at showing the overall average position and the preceding 15 year average. Note they were 24th in 1992 yet they go on as if they're top half division team when in fact they're exactly where they belong in the bottom half
It's only in the last few years that their overall average position has gone above ours. Some may say this is TLDR or sad etc but this is just to show the dirty mags they aren't what they think they deserve and the simply bought a brief spell of success and if it wasn't for Mike Ashley they may well have been fucked financially. Until we got relegated in 1958 we averaged just over 7th and it was 1994-95 when we went above 10th so still 5 places above the Mag and it's now 12th.
Any they wonder why we call them deluded? This is the part of the reason why
