Thanks to FFP it’s impossible to do a Man City or PSG anywayFootball doesn't really get me going anymore, although I love watching games like Liverpool V Man City at the weekend gone. But the connection to SAFC has been frayed over recent years, starting with Drumavile leaving and getting progressively worse... and I can wholeheartedly say that a regime like the Saudi's taking over SAFC would completely isolate me.
If NUFC fans are happy then who are we to judge , good luck to them, but it wouldn't be for me. How can you be part of a "club" in in such circumstances? Same goes for City, PSG etc etc..
Honestly it's like throwing a stick for a hungry dog that's expecting a treat it's a distraction, but it keeps falling for it.Obviously, a part of me wants Ashley to stay forever, but a part of me remains quite intrigued about the whole thing. Once again, we've slipped back into the same old tactic of 18 months ago of getting the fans' hopes up through loads of off the record briefings. Given how much Staveley and co. crowed on about the takeover the first time around, you'd think they'd learn their lesson and wait until the takeover was over the line.
As usual, there's no mention of any kind of plans - they've had 18 months to think this through, yet there's been zero detail on what they're actually going to do once they're through the door.
And also as usual, the Saudis still can't even bring themselves to publicly mention that they want to buy an overseas football club. Clearly they do, but it's weird that it doesn't ever seem to warrant a mention when they reveal their long-term plans for sport.
It's basically a circus already.
Now deleted from the article. How funny.
I don't think that's ever existed tbhThey’ll likely go down anyway this season. If it does go through I can see them getting rid of Bruce and appointing some obscure foreigner who takes them down.

From the Chronics own article, am I missing something here?
"Of course, arbitration - according to the Premier League's QC Adrian Lewis, at least - will centre around one issue: whether there is seperation between the PIF and Saudi state. Today's news does not, on the face of it, alter that. But things have shifted with today's news."
I agree mate. Personally I don't think it will go through. More than anything I think you have the 6 into 4 doesn't go but the big 5 and spurs are used to accepting them odds and have done for a good number of years. Make it 4 into 7 and it becomes a no no with villa Everton trying to catch up it stretches the odds even more that's what it boils down to. The murder of the journalist is unacceptable as I'd 900 plus people dying of slave labour on Quatari world cup stadiums where does it stop I mean I bet Chelsea's owner made his living from laying bricks on building site. The American owners will be squeaky clean and Chinese my god how I wish for the 1970 80s without the violence and no live matches bar the cup final and England v ScotlandFootball doesn't really get me going anymore, although I love watching games like Liverpool V Man City at the weekend gone. Be very interesting watching matters unfold. As it stands PIF publicly walked away from the deal over one year ago sighting the length of time and the change in the global financial situation. Additionally the legal reason the PL board said matters could not proceed remains entirely unchanged. Let's say PIF might be back at the table and somehow the PL legal advice has changed, what then? By the time the legals with the PL are done the actual deal itself has then to recommence, the mags could well be relegated by then. If the legal path has been cleared there may be better options than buying a championship club. However more broadly just owing a PL club in England is the goal for PIF, the sports whitewash complete! The overall goal for the KSA, accepted as part of UK elite sport, reputation cleansed.Oh aye sure. But there's only so many trophies. And it took time before city won stuff.
There'll be a period of time where Bin Salman - already about as popular as Harold Shipman or Fred West - has his profile raised and people will object the world over whilst the Mags are drawing with Crystal Palace.
who knows? TBH it all sounds daft to me.![]()
Clubs can’t just exponentially increase their wage bill like before, they’ll be restricted in what they can do, even if it’s intended to be the most ambitious takeover of all time, they’ve got a load of mediocre players on long term deals.I don't think that's ever existed tbh
As if he will attend a gameThis will sort them out though. We're kidding ourselves If we think It won't affect the football. It's just horrible. Hopefully some clubs will refuse to let Bin Salman in their ground or at least their hospitality
Daily mail and telegraph saying they don't need to prove it now. That was only to seperate Blame for the piracyFrom the Chronics own article, am I missing something here?

I agree. And that's always been the main issueWas thinking the same. I dont see how this changes the separation thing.
Never were man. It was all a big misunderstanding. It’s only a corrupt cartel if they aren’t in it.So if I'm right and the takeover goes through...does that mean the PL arent corrupt anymore????
I agree. And that's always been the main issue
