As soon as all the court cases started it was obvious it would go through like. Assuming of course the Saudis were still at the table. There is no way the premier league want an ugly court case about corruption going on.. it was just a question if they were still game over in Saudi

Fuck sake
Piracy issue done, So it's still down to the fit and proper test now. That's not a guaranteed pass like
Of course they'll pass that, it's purely financial
It'll be interesting to see how they cope with being the most unpopular club in the world as opposed to 'everyone's second club'
Won't give a fuck if they're winning stuff. No club would.

A lot of Man City fans preferred it before they were rich.
The novelty soon wears off.
True but I'm yet to meet a city fan whoes best day wasn't winning the league or FA Cup. City went from irrelevant to Champions League final. it doesn't matter if some of the old boys preferred the third division - if they do similar it will undoubtedly affect our future support, our ability to attract young players and our future profit.

Hopefully it’s all 2 and 2 and getting 5. This doesn’t all mean the Saudis are buying them and certainly not for the price agreed years ago.

Oh aye sure. But there's only so many trophies. And it took time before city won stuff.
There'll be a period of time where Bin Salman - already about as popular as Harold Shipman or Fred West - has his profile raised and people will object the world over whilst the Mags are drawing with Crystal Palace.
who knows? TBH it all sounds daft to me.

Ask them what was better, beating Gillingham in the play offs or their 3rd F.A Cup in 4 years.
How old is this hypothetical fan we're talking about? A huge amount of their fans weren't even alive back then man. Ask them if they preferred a champions league final or being a yo-yo premier league side.

PL don't care about that or the murder of a journalist. Purely about piracy affecting their bottom line.
I'm fairness to them it's not their job to police the world, government sits on its hands so why should the premier League bother, having said that I think they'll still be reluctant to have someone like the Saudis involved in their brand and will still look for a reason not to allow him into the League.

It's amazing the amount of flack in the press and on TV we got with accusations of Di Canio being a facist and nothing is mentioned about the Saudis human rights record and everything else the murderous twats get up to. If this was us the media would be up in arms over it.
I honestly think they will be. Let's face it they haven't took over yet - if/once they do it'll be big news again and Khoshoggi is still fresh in people's minds imo

Football doesn't really get me going anymore, although I love watching games like Liverpool V Man City at the weekend gone. But the connection to SAFC has been frayed over recent years, starting with Drumavile leaving and getting progressively worse... and I can wholeheartedly say that a regime like the Saudi's taking over SAFC would completely isolate me.

If NUFC fans are happy then who are we to judge , good luck to them, but it wouldn't be for me. How can you be part of a "club" in in such circumstances? Same goes for City, PSG etc etc..

Wonder if we get some defections like the early 90s?

The biggest issue is fighting for future generations support.

There's selling out and then there's this, it's not exclusive to Newcastle fans like 90% of fans would want their clubs to be better and they will do all kinds of mental arithmetic to rationalize and defend whoever brought them success.
