NUFC/Sportwashing

I don't imagine Staveley has a pot to piss in. The reason she is pushing so hard is because she stands more to gain than everyone else if it goes through. I doubt she fronted anything up as I'm not sure she even has it.
It’s doubtful after the Barclays carry on.

What's this got to do with the price of fish? The arbitration is ongoing the Prem themselves said it will be heard in Jan during the CAT case.

That is about the takeover.

It's not. The arbitration is about whether the PL have followed their own processes, and not been overtly influenced by outside interests (other PL clubs and BeIn). The PL never rejected the proposed ownership; it never got that far. They quite properly asked for clarification on the involvement of KSA, and this was never produced. The Saudis then announced they were pulling out of the deal. If the arbitration goes in Ashley's favour, then the PL will have to reconsider the deal if it's forthcoming. It will then founder for exactly the same reasons as before; it will be impossible to prove that KSA, through its ownership of PIF, is not acting as a director or shadow director (a shadow director is defined in company law as a person who is not formally a director of the company, but on whose instructions the board of the company follow). Ashley is looking for compensation for loss of profit/costs in relation to the aborted bid.

How exactly do you know this? Because you should inform everyone else.

Everyone else believes the arbitration is indeed based around whether KSA is a director or not in order to take over the club.

This bit in bold, is the CAT case.
It hasn't, the buyers walked away.

There's only Newcastle keeping it going, absolutely no one else is interested.
That's just not true, but it doesn't bother me enough to argue it.

Can't be bothered to argue, you spend day after day doing just that

Ashley agreed to loan her it but only if the deal went through iirc. It would be in essence her shares for finding the buyer.

If it fails, someone will have to pay it.

Do I? When was the last time I spoke about the takeover in this thread or on this board for that matter?

The charge is there and live - that means the loan is there, and Staveley is on the hook for repayment. The deposit was non-refundable too. She thought she'd be able to repay it when she won the Barclay's case. She lost it.

On what basis do they desperately need assets?
Because their oil reserve is running dry and eventually they will need to generate funds by a different means. Hence the whole reason PiF became a thing in general. It's about diversifying their wealth to preserve the kingdom.

That's why they have bought shares in Disney and F1 etc.

They love money just as much as they love being blood thirsty bastards.

The thing that makes me laugh the most, is that there is absolutely no guarantee at all that PiF would have any real interest in pumping 100's of millions in and fighting some geopolitical war against Qatari clubs which is just absolute nonsense.

If Mike Ashley pumped £40m of the club's money into the training ground and academy there'd be a collective heart attack across Tyneside. Might not scan with your invented caricature of Newcastle fans, but it's true.

Yes they f***ing do, Arsenal, Man Utd, West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool, have all had protests and cry-arsing about how their clubs are run. Villa fans were livid when they went down and how their club was run. There are a few fanbases who went down with barely a whimper, just a glum acceptance of their fate. You don't seem to see that whatever Burnley fans feel about how they're run, doesn't impact how Newcastle fans about how we're run.

Academy sees no significant investment for 14yrs, and you think that's fine? Also, the "really successful" part of your caveat is doing a fuck ton of heavy lifting. What % of youth products go on to have a "really successful" career?

Pardew was sacked by League 1 Southampton. You cannot sit there with a straight face and say that wasn't a massive gamble for a newly promoted Premier League club? Hughton had never managed before and was given the charge of winning immediate promotion back to the Premier League. That's a massive gamble. Benitez, with his impressive CV was less of a gamble.

Look at the styles of football we've lurched between, this isn't the application of a considered strategy. Even under the previous owners we went from cavalier Keegan to Dour Dalglish, Robson's flowing attacking football, to Souness' shite, Allardyce to Keegan, Keegan to Kinnear, pragmatic Hughton to attacking Pardew, whatever the fuck McClaren was aiming for to pragmatic Benitez, now to 'front foot Bruce'. Where's the long term planning? How can you have long term recruitment plans when the managers play significantly differing styles of coaching, of playing?

He's been here 14 years, he could easily have ring fenced £2m a year from the tv deals, or perhaps paid for the advertising space his companies have enjoyed for nowt. £2m a year upgrading and maintaining the facilities beyond a lick of paint, so that the club isn't a decade behind other PL clubs in this regard.

You really puzzle me.

You spend hours, days, weeks and now years trying desperately to prove that Ashley hasn't invested, has no ambition for the club and no respect for the supporters.

Yeah, we know, he's made that totally clear and it won't change.

So, seriously, what's your point?

I research in SWF and they are astute investors. They are by no means desperate and have been in and out of many stocks recently. In fact they borrowed just to buy the undervalued assets and quickly turned them (see SEC filings). Their average holding period is generally quite short.

NUFC is either an outright marketing ploy or they will tart it up and move it on. The language about an extra 50m each season suggests the latter.

This Court case with the biggest attendance ever has got them all frothing again 🤣🤣🤣
They won the Court case attendance cup. Bigger crowd than us against Wigan 🙄
It’s a pathetic enough comparison in the first place but he didn’t even get the crowd right 🙈🤣

33k must have been free season tickets with 12k screaming geordies locked out on the waiting list and the other 7k geordies all boycoutting and shouting at sports direct shops.
