Northern trains

Tried and failed several times to sort a bus, lack of demand. Don’t think any other branches pick up en route either
I travelled with the Billingham branch about 11 years ago, really nice group. Been abroad for 10 years so don't know if they still run a coach.

I got the 1140 out of Thornaby yesterday and it did seem busier than usual. Not sure if this was because of people watching the rugby then going for their train. No seats left after Billingham, ridiculous

Are there no branch buses down that way?
I think Easington have a bus n blackhall hardwick then nowt.

mind I noticed leaving deafy that many branch busses were yet to get over the bridge an hour after the whistle!
Train timings and fares are good, its just lack of carriages which makes dangerous overcrowding or folk turned away.
Most matchdays consist of being squashed like sardines and my son having to listen to fat slag hen parties swearing like dockers.

Is it possible to use more than two carriages with those shitty pacer train things? They have a drivers cab at end of each carriage so don’t think you can link more than two and have a train you can walk all the way through

they use 4 carriage trains for the quieter days/times. As you do.
Does anyone bother paying on these trains?

gates at hartlepool now but was happy to not give them a penny prior.

On a match day, there's more, and more, people, getting on the train, at the station before Hartlepool, (Seaton Carew,) in order to be certain, of getting a seat, on the smaller, two carriage, pacer trains, because once the train gets into Hartlepool, there's a mad scramble to not only get on the train, but to try to find an available seat.
The Pacer trains should be discontinued, imo, in favour of the bigger, and better, Northern trains.

It's been shocking when we pick up at York on the way home.

Seen loads of bother and it always seems to be started by groups of lasses who get on there.

Aye York seems to be where the bother is. I noticed there was a male train manager and women were making comments about his nice arse and saying what they'd like to do to him sexually. If it was the other way and it was blokes making the same comments to a female staff member, they'd be up in arms about the sexist pigs. You couldn't make it up!

in a group of rowdy lads/blokes there often have one who’ll speak up when theres kids n that about.
Groups of lasses, most who probably have kids rarely seem to give a shite, its like the first time theyve left the house ever.

on train n in bars sat plenty heffers saying kernt every 2 minutes, sounds/looks awful from a lass.
I think im getting old!!!

Just wait till they build that new Station at Horden next year!!
How’s anyone ever gona get on there, or Seaham after it.:mad:

I believe the pacers were meant to be a 20year stop gap measure. They’re now 40 year old?

I travel from York for games, see them getting off train around Noon sober(ish) and getting on when I get back around 1930, sight to behold. I get asked is this train for Leeds / Ncl, I just say yes, its usually for KX.
See them laid in gutters outside stn. Daft as brushes.

Managed to squeeze on at Seaham on Saturday on the 12.20 train but it's the first time we have got on this season. We have been turned away every other time.
It was ridiculous how packed it was.

I could understand using smaller Pacer trains, for a quiet rural route, but not for the Boro, Thornaby, Stockton, Billingham, H/pool, Seaham, Sunderland, Newcastle, to Carlisle route, and especially, given the number of passengers, who go to a Sunderland or Newcastle game, or those who crowd onto the trains, for trips to the Metro centre.

The Go North East X9/X10 services that link Newcastle / Dalton Park / Peterlee / Billingham / Stockton / Hank's House are good services than link up with the X6/X7 from Sunderland to Peterlee.
