Lockdown = Absolutely ZERO Flu

Masks will fizzle away.
Not convinced, normally have 2-3 man flu events each year, haven't had so much as a sneeze since last January. Used to have to go down the smoke for work every 4-6 weeks, metro to scum castle station , LNER cattle wagon to KX, tube to hotel, few days of meetings in stuffy rooms, followed by socialising in heaving hostelries, and the repeating the journey in revers. Think when things get back to normal mask and hand sanitiser will be a permanent fixture, certainly whilst travelling.

Agree with this.
My partner and i have used Hand sanitiser for a good few years now.

I think wearing a mask if you have a cold is a good idea going forward, I know I'll be wearing one if I have a cold. But I don't see a reason to wear one if I'm healthy.

I really hope it becomes completely unacceptable to be out in public with a "cold" without a face covering, and certainly not to go to work with one.

Although I'm inclined to agree and feel people generally need to practice improved hygiene routines, would this not have a long term effect on our immunity to bugs and colds?

Its a perfectly valid question and should be looked into.

Mind, creating proper sewerage didn't cause us any harm. And I still get 2-3 colds every year, so I don't seem to have developed any real immunity from any of the 100 or so I've had in the past.
Its a complex question, I guess.

A year on and I'm still stunned by how comparatively transmissible covid is. We're still struggling to contain that, and yet we've made flu fuck off entirely. Mmmmm

People fall over themselves to substantiate claims with reputable sources, yet you copy and pasted a response to another poster, from an opinion piece in the BMJ, which isn’t the “truthful fact” without even saying it was from the BMJ.

Fortunately those of us used to reading and writing in a certain style can spot things like that a mile off.

Not your work. Not your views. Not your opinions.

Ah.. because it doesn't fall in line with your point of view... Why should I have to rewrite something that states the points perfectly 🤡

You tried to pass it off as your own work. You’re well known on this forum for tall tales and inventing stories.

Like SAFCOldie, enable, robbied1, Mackemmark74, themanagersnot2blame and a few others you’re known for making posts that generate controversy

You have copied that word for word from here

Stop copy pasting other people’s work and trying to pass it off as your own.

 Gerrin.
They are geting burnt in June and the burning filmed 😏

You say flu but we all know it will be classed as a mutation.

Not happening in May now?
It's not attention seeking, it's frustration at being two steps ahead and having to bite ones tongue.

Two steps ahead.

Exactly the same as you mate, not had a single sniffle for well over one year now.

Re the topic of flu I don't think I've ever had it.

Can't remember being this 'unsick' before through the winter. Hand washing, work from home when needed, potentially mask wearing, sanitizer here to stay.

When I do go back to the office there will be some social stigma attached to anyone coming in if they are not well. They'd be dragged out the office and sent home if they show up.

I bet the amount of people having heart attacks playing five a side has also reduced, I bet the amount of STD's has also reduced, I bet the amount of drunken accidents in city centres has fallen, etc etc if people are artificially kept indoors then you would expect a fall in stuff but there is always a trade off. Flu will be back as normal next autumn to reclaim it's normal position as the primary respiratory virus in the UK.

And the big worry is that not only has it has spent the last 3 years in the gym, it also didn't come to see us this year so everyones ummune system down a few percent.

The mask doesn't bother me. But how do you enjoy it?

I quite like wearing my SAFC one. Sky blue, with the old ship badge.
Not sure how anyone can enjoy using sanitiser. I bloody hate the stuff, texture, smell, everything. Better than getting the virus of course but I don’t find it a pleasurable experience!

I get chapped hands which sometimes open into cuts. Absolutely knacks. Just before working from home started my hands were a right mess. Used to be absolutely raw with the amount of hand sanitiser used at work. Much better using actual soap and water where possible like.
