I beat you with 9.I can't tell if Leeds/Reading has become absolute dogshit, or whether I've gotten to the age where I just don't know what modern mainstream music is.
I've heard of in total, 11 bands there.
There's grime and rap artists all over that
not what people go to Reading/Leeds to see
Going the same way as V Festival which was glorious around the turn of the century but slowly became a glorified Radio One roadshow

Apart from Belly, that is absolute horse shit
I usually put a bus on for one of the days, but don’t think I’ll be bothering this year.
If only KOL guaranteed to play their first two albums.
Iirc they never used to play sex on fire or would save it til very last as they got fed up with people turning up just for that then pissing off
Not true mate. I bet they’ve played it every gig since they went massive.
Me and the wife often check their setlists, and they always pander to their new fans. Lucky if they play 5/6 songs from the first two out of 20+.
Their first album was tremendous. Red morning light, califonia waiting and spiral staircase me favourite tunes off it.Half true
They were moaning about it and considered dropping it but kept it
You have just reminded me what a great tune Red Morning Light is. Not sure what year that was on the FIFA soundtrack but that was the first KOL song I ever heard
Kings Of Leon reveal they considered dropping their biggest song from live show - NME
18, but I couldn’t name a song by most of those.I can't tell if Leeds/Reading has become absolute dogshit, or whether I've gotten to the age where I just don't know what modern mainstream music is.

The demographic used to be around 16-40 when I started going. I last went 3 years ago and it was nowhere near as bad as that.Who would have thought, posters on a football forum (most of which are tipping well past middle aged) don't like the line up of a festival which is aimed at 16-18 year olds?
Kids don't listen to guitar music, so it's little surprise that the majority of the artists aren't anymore.
How can you be called Reptilia and like all that nonsense?Lovebox is the pick of the festival lineups this year for me so far like, Childish Gambino, Anderson .Paak, NERD, Big Boi and The Internet all announced for it. There’s a lot of house music there as well (which I hate, Bicep have been announced though who are a bit of an exception as they are fantastic.)

They had in their wisdom gotten rid of brown (quiet) camping though, with the result that there was nowhere to camp by Thursday afternoon. I feared it was in terminal decline by then.
I can’t decide if their numbers are dropping cos the bands are shit, or if they can’t attract bands cos the numbers are dropping.

Just being facetious there mate. I used to think I’d be going to Leeds forever but times change. It was always the rockiest festival after download, but I guess the demand is no longer there.People are allowed to like more than one genre of music mate, and to call the above nonsense is daft to be honest.
That is a hideous fall from grace. There's grime and rap artists all over that

I’ve been to free festivals with better line upsNone of the headliners strike me as your typical headline act- certainly wouldn’t hand over £170 for that
